I am an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Computer Science and Engineering Department, Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers, University Politehnica of Bucharest.
In 2024, I received my Habilitation in Computer Science.

In 2024, I helped open RoNLP-CLARIN (RoNLP: CLARIN K-Centre for Romanian Natural Language Processing), the first CLARIN Knowledge Centre in Romania, where I hold the position of Technical Director.
I received my Ph.D. (2018) in Data Management and Text Mining from the University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania. I hold an M.Sc. Degree (2013) in Computer Engineering and Information Technology from the University Politehnica of Bucharest, a B.Sc. degree (2013) in Computer Science from the University of Bucharest, and a B.Eng. (2011) degree in Computer Engineering and Information Technology from the University Politehnica of Bucharest.
In 2024, I was an invited researcher at Freie Universität Berlin and Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems (Fraunhofer Fokus), where I worked on harmful content detection and network immunization.
In 2022, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher on the theme of Disinformation Detection at the Department of Information Technology, Uppsala University, in collaboration with The Nordic Observatory for Digital Media and Information Disorder (NORDIS), one of the national hubs of the European Digital Media Observatory.
In 2021, I was an invited researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems (Fraunhofer Fokus), where I worked on Network-Aware Fake News Mitigation.
I was a Postdoctoral Researcher (2019-2020) in the Data-Intensive Systems group at the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Aarhus University, Aarhus, Denmark, where I worked on Big Data Analytics for Time Series.
During my Ph.D. studies, I was an invited researcher (2015-2016) at the ERIC laboratory, Université de Lyon 2, France, where I worked on Data Management, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing.
In 2026, together with Elena-Simona Apostol, I received the Corneliu Penescu award from the Academy of Romanian Scientists for the group of papers titled Machine Learning and Graph Mining Algorithms for Social Media Analysis.
In 2025, together with Elena-Simona Apostol, I received the Gheorghe Cartianu award from the Romanian Academy for the group of papers titled Social Network Analysis using Artificial Intelligence Algorithms and Graph Mining.
I received in 2025 the In Tempore Opportuno award at the Gala of Excellence event organized by the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest for the group of papers titled Data-driven harmful content detection systems.
I received 2 ANIS Awards for my teaching activities, the first in 2021 for the Distributed Databases Systems master course, and the second in 2024 for the Data Mining for Financial Computing master course.
My research topics include Natural Language Processing, Natural Language Understanding, Natural Language Generation, Computational Linguistics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Big Data Analytics, Text Mining, Data Mining, Time Series Analysis, Relational and NoSQL Database Management Systems, Information Retrieval, Business Intelligence, High-Performance Computing, and Cloud Computing.
