CineBuzz — Privacy Policy

CineBuzz is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we
collect, use, and share your information when you use the CineBuzz mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Data: your email address and password (managed by Firebase Authentication),
username, and profile photo if you choose to upload one.
- Content You Create: watchlists, saved movies and shows, ratings, reviews, custom lists,
viewing history within the app, film club memberships, and social activity such as
follows and likes.
- Usage Data: how you interact with the app, such as searches, screens viewed, and
features used.
- Device Data: device type, operating system version, app version, and crash reports.
- Advertising Identifiers: on iOS, the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) — only if you
grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. On Android, the
Google Advertising ID.
- Notification Token: a push notification token, so we can send you alerts you have
opted into.
- Purchase Data: subscription status and transaction history for CineBuzz Premium,
processed by RevenueCat and the app stores. We never receive or store your payment
card details.
- Content You Send to AI Features: text you enter into AI-powered features is sent to
Google's Gemini API to generate a response.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide the app's core features, including your account, saved content, and social
features
- Personalize recommendations and content
- Deliver and measure advertising (see Section 4)
- Process subscriptions and restore purchases
- Send notifications you have enabled
- Improve app performance, fix bugs, and provide customer support
3. Third-Party Services
CineBuzz uses the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob — advertising
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud
Messaging) — accounts, data storage, analytics, crash reporting, notifications
- Google Gemini — AI-powered features
- RevenueCat — subscription management
- The Movie Database (TMDB) — movie and TV information
4. Advertising and Your Choices
CineBuzz is free to use and is funded by advertising. We use Google AdMob to show ads.
To serve ads, information from your device — including advertising identifiers, cookies,
and similar technologies — may be collected and shared with Google and its advertising
partners. Depending on your choices, ads may be personalized based on this information.
We do not sell your personal data. However, sharing data with advertising partners for
the purpose of showing and measuring ads may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under
some privacy laws, such as those in certain U.S. states.
Your choices:
- iOS App Tracking Transparency: the first time it is relevant, iOS will ask whether you
allow CineBuzz to track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline,
we do not access your IDFA and you will see non-personalized ads instead. You can change
this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland: we show a
consent form, provided by Google's User Messaging Platform, before serving personalized
ads. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time from within the app.
- You will still see ads if you decline; they will simply be non-personalized.

5. Data Storage and Security
We take appropriate measures to protect your data. However, no method of electronic
storage or transmission is 100% secure.
6. Children's Privacy
CineBuzz is not intended for users under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect
data from children. Our advertising is not directed to children.
7. Your Rights
You may:
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting us
- Withdraw your advertising consent at any time (see Section 4)
- Disable notifications in your device settings
- Delete your account, which removes your profile and associated content
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a
new effective date.
