Research Interests

I am an Associate Professor in Biostatistics at the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology, Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University. My research is motivated by public health, epidemiology and medical problems and primarily focuses on the design and application of statistical methods that inform health decisions. My primary focus centers on the development of methodologies designed for the analysis of spatial-temporal correlated data, survival data, and correlated longitudinal data. I am particularly interested in uncovering latent variables or patterns that underlie complex datasets. Additionally, my expertise extends to predictive models and the integration of machine learning methods. I actively engage in collaborative efforts within diverse domains such as mental health and substance use, cancer research, infectious disease, and environmental epidemiology. Through these interdisciplinary collaborations, I aim to contribute meaningfully to the understanding and resolution of critical issues in health and well-being.
