My name is Cindy and I am a neuroscientist and science communicator.
I am currently finishing my PhD in Neuroscience at the University of California, San Francisco. I study how general anesthesia alters how pain perception is represented in the cortex. So far, I've helped to discover a potential brain activity-based pain biomarker that will further our collective understanding of pain and hopefully aid in the development of novel, safe, and effective pain therapeutics.
I am also a science communicator, passionate about making science accessible and exciting to the general public. I am the current President of UCSF's own science podcast, Carry the One Radio, where we interview subject matter experts around the globe and across all disciplines to make their stories heard and introduce you to topics you didn't know you'd love.
