Title: The birational geometry of elliptic fibration: a string geometry perspective

Abstract:

I will present our current understanding of the geometry of elliptic fibrations in F-theory. In particular new developments in crepant resolutions of Weierstrass models and their flop transitions. I will also explain how intersection theory, representation theory, and hyperplane arrangements naturally factor in the study of elliptic fibration.
