Day 8

Title: Elliptic Calabi-Yau Geometry and twisted dimensional reductions of F-theory

Speaker: Lara Anderson (Virginia Tech)

Time: 14:45-15:20 (GMT+0), 2021.08.11

Abstract:

I will review ways that elliptically fibered Calabi-Yau geometry plays a crucial role in exploring the landscape of string compactifications. This will be illustrated with new geometries/theories arising from twisted dimensional reductions of F-/M-theory in 6-/5-dimensions.
