Abstract:

The theory of Eisenstein series on finite-dimensional Lie groups has played an important role in Langlands program. In this talk, after reviewing the classical construction, we will define Eisenstein series on the Lie groups of infinite dimensional Lie algebras (Kac--Moody algebras) and consider some basic properties of the series.
