Chalcogenide Thin-Film Photovoltaics Research Group

(Korea Institute of Science and Technology)

We belong to Photo-electronic Hybrids Research Center, Korea Institute of Science and Technology. Our group is focused on developing the next generation photovoltaics using chalcogenide semiconductor materials (CuInxGa1-x(Se,S)2, Cu2ZnSn(Se,S)4). Chalcogenide offers a variety of advantages over silicon such as thin film processibility, bandgap tunability, and a high power conversion efficiency. We specifically aim to develop thin film solar modules on flexible, transparent, tandem, or bi-facial platforms, targeting new life-friendly applications such as building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) or vehicle-integrated photovoltaics (VIPV). Our goal is to provide sustainable energy solutions to the society facing the 4th industrial revolution.
