If you want a lightweight, behind-the-head design with up to 23 hours of stated music time for MacBook listening, choose CHUYI Earphone Over Ear; if you need adjustable over-ear-style cushions and a mechanical rotating volume control, choose LICAEVEY Retro 6.0. The CHUYI’s ear hooks and foldable frame suit active routines; the LICAEVEY is the more conventional fit for someone who wants cushioned ear cups and a headband.
• CHUYI Earphone Over Ear: Its behind-the-head, ear-hook design is made to stay in place during movement, and its stated music time is 23 hours. Trade-off: it rests on the ears rather than using cushioned over-ear cups.
• LICAEVEY Retro 6.0: Its adjustable headband, soft cushions, and rotating volume control give it a more traditional headphone feel. Trade-off: its stated play time is 20 hours, and the sheet offers less detail about its wireless connection and controls.
• CHUYI is for: listeners who value a compact, foldable fit for walking, workouts, or extended listening.
• LICAEVEY is for: listeners who prefer cushioned cups, an adjustable headband, and a tactile volume knob.
The CHUYI’s defining feature is its wraparound frame. Rather than relying on a conventional headband over the top of the head, it sits behind the head and uses ear hooks to hold the on-ear pieces in place. That makes its design relevant for walking, workouts, and other situations where a loose fit could be distracting. Its flexible titanium-alloy wire frame is described as foldable, so it can be put away or worn around the neck when not in use.
For everyday listening with a MacBook, the main practical appeal is straightforward: Bluetooth connection, media controls, and a stated range of up to 33 feet. The product information lists Bluetooth version 4 and a 23-hour music time, with a roughly one-to-two-hour charging time in the feature details. Those figures make it a plausible option for long stretches of listening without frequent charging, though actual battery life can vary with use. Its buttons handle playback and volume, and the headset can access voice commands on supported phones and operating systems. Those phone-specific controls should not be assumed to work identically with a MacBook.
The listed 27 mm dynamic driver, 20 Hz–20,000 Hz frequency range, and built-in microphone describe its audio and call setup, but they do not establish how it will sound to every listener. The product sheet also mentions noise reduction for calls; it does not provide enough detail to infer strong isolation from surrounding noise. CHUYI may suit someone searching for a spatial audio kids headset for MacBook in the broad sense of a Bluetooth headset for listening, but the sheet does not claim spatial audio or identify it as a children’s product. It is better understood as an adult-oriented, on-ear sports design.
How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
Who should skip it: Skip CHUYI if you specifically want soft, full-size ear cushions around your ears or a traditional over-ear fit.
LICAEVEY takes a different route. Its curved metal headband extends to accommodate different head shapes, while soft sponge ear cushions and cups that adjust by six degrees are intended to help the cups align with the wearer’s ears. That combination points to someone who prefers a headband-and-cushion format over CHUYI’s behind-the-head frame. The product sheet describes the headband as lightweight and says the design aims to avoid clamping pressure, but comfort remains personal, especially over long sessions.
The Retro 6.0’s standout control is a mechanical rotating volume adjustment. That offers a physical way to change volume rather than relying only on buttons. The sheet also lists simultaneous connection to two devices, which may be useful if a listener wants to keep two sources connected. Its stated play time is 20 hours, and its communication range is listed as 10 meters, or about 32.8 feet. Those are useful reference points for desk listening and moving around nearby, though they do not promise identical results in every setup.
For MacBook listening, the cushioned design may appeal to someone looking for a best comfortable headphone for MacBook in a more familiar headband format. The listed frequency response is 80 Hz–20 kHz, with a signal-to-noise ratio of at least 80 dB and distortion of no more than 5.0%. These specifications provide technical context, not a guarantee of personal sound quality. The sheet also describes ambient awareness for outdoor use, so it is not presented as a model intended to shut out the world. Its stated weight is about 182 g, and the package includes an extra pair of sponge ear cushions.
Who should skip it: Skip LICAEVEY if you want the longer stated play time, a behind-the-head sports frame, or more clearly specified Bluetooth details.
• Best fit for workouts and walking → CHUYI Earphone Over Ear. Its wraparound frame and ear hooks are specifically described as a secure design for running or riding outdoors.
• Best for a conventional cushioned fit → LICAEVEY Retro 6.0. Its headband extends, its cushions are soft, and its ear cups can adjust by six degrees.
• Longer stated music or play time → CHUYI Earphone Over Ear. Its sheet lists 23 hours, compared with 20 hours for LICAEVEY.
• Best for a tactile volume adjustment → LICAEVEY Retro 6.0. Its mechanical rotating control is a specific design feature, not just a general media-control claim.
• Best for folding and carrying → CHUYI Earphone Over Ear. The flexible frame is described as foldable and can also be worn around the neck when not in use.
• Best if you want two connected devices → LICAEVEY Retro 6.0. Its sheet explicitly says it can connect to two devices simultaneously.
• Best-documented Bluetooth range → CHUYI Earphone Over Ear. It lists Bluetooth and a 33-foot range; LICAEVEY lists a 10-meter communication range but gives less connection detail.
• Best fit for a MacBook listener who prioritizes movement → CHUYI; for a listener who prioritizes cushions and a headband → LICAEVEY. Neither sheet identifies MacBook-specific features, so the choice comes down to wearing style and listed wireless functions.
Buying Considerations
Before choosing either model for a MacBook, focus on the fit you are most likely to enjoy. CHUYI places its on-ear pieces around the ears and anchors them with a rear frame. That can be appealing when a top headband feels cumbersome or when the headphones need to stay put during movement. LICAEVEY instead uses a headband and cushioned cups. Its adjustable band and pivoting cup angle offer more ways to adapt the fit, but it is not described as a foldable behind-the-head design.
The connection details also deserve a careful read. CHUYI explicitly identifies Bluetooth version 4 and a 33-foot range. LICAEVEY lists a 10-meter communication range and the ability to connect two devices at once, but its product information contains inconsistent connectivity details. The main feature description calls it wireless, while another field lists a different connectivity technology. I would not infer a specific MacBook pairing procedure from that inconsistency; check the product’s current instructions before relying on a particular connection method.
Finally, do not choose based on claims the sheets do not make. Neither product is specified as bone conduction headphones for MacBook: CHUYI is described as on-ear, and LICAEVEY as a cushioned headphone design. Neither sheet confirms spatial audio, and neither provides enough information to promise a particular level of sound isolation. If those are essential requirements, these specifications do not establish that either model meets them.
I would choose CHUYI Earphone Over Ear for MacBook listening if my priority were a lightweight-feeling, movement-friendly design with a stated 23-hour music time and a foldable rear frame. Its on-ear fit is the clear compromise, so it would not be my pick for someone who wants cushioned cups. LICAEVEY has the stronger case for that traditional fit, plus its rotating volume control and two-device connection. My choice is CHUYI because the secure, foldable design and longer stated play time better match the way I would want to use a headset across desk time and walks.
Neither product sheet identifies a dedicated MacBook feature. CHUYI specifies Bluetooth version 4 and a 33-foot range; LICAEVEY describes wireless use and a 10-meter communication range, along with two-device connection. Choose according to fit and controls, and confirm compatibility details before relying on a specific setup.
CHUYI lists up to 23 hours of music time. LICAEVEY lists 20 hours of play time. These are stated specifications, not guaranteed runtimes for every device, volume level, or use pattern.
No. CHUYI is described as an on-ear headset with ear hooks, while LICAEVEY uses a headband and cushioned cups. The supplied specifications do not describe either as a bone-conduction design.
The product details do not specify spatial audio for either headset. CHUYI mentions noise reduction for calls, but the sheet does not establish strong listening isolation; LICAEVEY is described as allowing awareness of surrounding sounds.
