If you want reliable, long-lasting audio for intense gym sessions without worrying about your device falling out, choose CHUYI Earphone Over Ear; if you need to stay fully aware of your surroundings while enjoying a lightweight, open-ear experience during workouts, choose Ttbesmi Purple Out.
• CHUYI Earphone Over Ear: Offers an impressive 23-hour battery life and a secure, foldable design built for durability, though it is a closed-ear style that blocks some ambient noise. Best for users who prioritize marathon listening sessions and stability during heavy movement.
• Ttbesmi Purple Out: Delivers a unique open-ear design with bone conduction technology and IPX5 sweatproofing, but sacrifices battery life with only 4 hours of playtime per charge. Ideal for safety-conscious runners and cyclists who need to hear traffic while exercising.
• The CHUYI is the clear winner for extended use where charging isn't an option, while the Ttbesmi wins for situational awareness and comfort in hot environments.
The CHUYI Wireless Earphone Over Ear is engineered specifically for people who treat their headphones as essential tools rather than accessories. The core of its appeal lies in its robust construction and endurance. With a built-in 300mAh rechargeable battery, this headset delivers up to 23 hours of continuous music time. That is a massive advantage for anyone working long shifts, taking long road trips, or spending entire days at the gym without access to a power outlet. The battery charges relatively quickly in about one to two hours, and the standby time exceeds 200 hours, ensuring the unit is ready whenever you are. If you have ever had to stop a workout because your earbuds died halfway through, this specification alone makes the CHUYI a compelling choice.
Comfort is another pillar of this design, even though it is an on-ear model. The product description highlights soft leather ear tips designed to prevent discomfort during prolonged wear. This is crucial for gym-goers who might be sweating or moving vigorously. The headset features a titanium alloy steel wire frame that allows it to be twisted and folded without deforming. This adaptability means it can fit different head shapes securely, which addresses the common issue of headphones slipping during high-intensity interval training or running. The "on-ear" placement ensures they stay put, unlike clip-on styles that might bounce around, making it a solid contender for multipoint true wireless earbuds for gym use where stability is paramount.

Sound quality is driven by a 27mm full audio unit that promises high-quality stereo sound. The manufacturer notes that this setup filters out background noise effectively, allowing you to enjoy CD-level sound quality even in noisy environments like a crowded fitness center. It includes a high-sensitivity microphone for hands-free calls, which is handy if you need to take work calls between sets. However, there is a trade-off. Because this is a closed-ear design, it isolates you from your environment. While the active noise cancellation feature helps block gym chatter, it also means you cannot easily hear approaching equipment or coaches. You must rely entirely on your own hearing protection.
Who should skip this? If you are a runner who needs to hear every car horn or cyclist approaching from behind, this closed-ear design poses a safety risk. Additionally, if you prefer a completely weightless feel, the 46g weight of the CHUYI might feel noticeable compared to smaller earbuds, though the balanced distribution mitigates this.
The Ttbesmi Purple Out takes a radically different approach with its open-ear architecture. This is not a traditional headphone; it uses air-bone conduction technology to transmit sound directly to your inner ear without blocking the ear canal. The primary selling point here is situational awareness. When you wear these during outdoor sports, you keep an eye on your surroundings and remain safe. This makes them an excellent choice for best bluetooth headset for gym enthusiasts who train outdoors or in large, open gyms where hearing your environment is non-negotiable. The design is incredibly lightweight, weighing only 0.3oz (approximately 18g), so you will likely forget they are there after wearing them for a long time. This lack of restraint is perfect for those who find over-ear cans claustrophobic or sweaty.
Durability is another strong suit for the Ttbesmi Purple Out. It features a nano waterproof coating rated IPX5, meaning it can handle sweat and rainstorms without damage. You can simply wipe it down after a tough session, and it remains functional. The enclosure is made of skin-friendly, non-allergic ABS material, which is gentle on the skin even during long workouts. Connectivity is handled by an upgraded Bluetooth 5.3 chip, offering a transmission distance of about 33 feet (10 meters) barrier-free. This ensures a stable connection whether you are at home or outside, eliminating the lag often associated with older Bluetooth versions. The dual microphone directional radio system supports crystal-clear calls, using an ENC algorithm to reduce noise, so you can talk on the phone even if the gym is loud.
However, the open-ear design comes with significant compromises regarding audio immersion and battery life. The battery average life is only about 4 hours at 50% volume. This is a stark contrast to the CHUYI's 23 hours. If you plan to listen to podcasts or music for a full day, you will need to charge the case frequently or accept that the music stops midway through your day. Furthermore, while the sound is described as 360° panoramic stereo, open-ear headphones naturally lack the deep bass and isolation of sealed drivers. You get clarity, but you do not get the "wall of sound" experience.
Who should skip this? If you are looking for deep bass or total noise isolation to focus intensely on a single task, the open design will let too much external noise in. Also, if you require all-day battery life without carrying a charging case, the 4-hour limit will be a major frustration.
• Best for Battery Life: The CHUYI Earphone Over Ear dominates with 23 hours of playback versus the Ttbesmi's 4 hours, making it superior for long days.
• Best for Safety and Awareness: The Ttbesmi Purple Out wins with its open-ear design, allowing you to hear traffic and gym equipment clearly.
• Best for Durability and Build: Both are sturdy, but the CHUYI's titanium alloy frame offers more structural rigidity against twisting, while the Ttbesmi relies on flexible plastic.
• Best for Sweat Resistance: The Ttbesmi Purple Out has a specific IPX5 rating, giving it a slight edge in liquid resistance compared to the general water-repellent claims of the CHUYI.
• Best for Sound Isolation: The CHUYI provides active noise cancellation and closed cups, ideal for focusing in loud environments.
• Best for Lightweight Comfort: The Ttbesmi is significantly lighter at 18g compared to the CHUYI's 46g, offering a nearly invisible feel.
• Best for Call Quality: Both offer noise reduction, but the Ttbesmi's dual-microphone setup is specifically highlighted for face-to-face clarity in noisy areas.
• Best Value for Frequent Travelers: The CHUYI's foldable design and massive battery make it easier to pack and use without frequent charging stops.
When deciding between these two, consider your primary use case. If your main goal is to have a "set it and forget it" device that lasts through multiple workouts without needing a charger, the CHUYI is the logical choice. Conversely, if your priority is staying connected to your environment while maintaining a cool, comfortable fit, the Ttbesmi is the better tool. The Bluetooth version difference is also worth noting; the Ttbesmi uses Bluetooth 5.3, which generally offers faster pairing and better stability than the CHUYI's Bluetooth 4.0, though both claim similar effective ranges.
After analyzing the specifications and intended use cases, I would personally buy the CHUYI Earphone Over Ear for my daily gym routine. The sheer utility of a 23-hour battery life cannot be overstated for someone who trains frequently; knowing I won't run out of juice mid-workout removes a layer of stress. The secure fit and foldable design also make it practical for storage. While the Ttbesmi is innovative, the four-hour battery life feels too limiting for a primary workout companion unless you are doing very short sessions. For gym use, reliability and endurance trump the novelty of open ears, especially since most indoor gyms provide enough ambient noise to justify the isolation of the CHUYI.
Neither product supports true multipoint connectivity (connecting to two devices simultaneously). However, both allow for easy switching between devices via manual reconnection, which works well for single-device gym setups.
The CHUYI offers superior battery endurance and secure fit for heavy lifting, while the Ttbesmi excels in safety and breathability for cardio. The "best" depends entirely on whether you prioritize longevity or situational awareness.
The CHUYI uses Active Noise Cancellation to block out external sounds for immersion. The Ttbesmi uses Sound Isolation via its open-ear design, which keeps external sounds audible while filtering noise for incoming calls.
While prices fluctuate, the CHUYI's longer battery life and larger driver size often justify a higher cost for power users, whereas the Ttbesmi's lower price reflects its shorter battery capacity and simpler open-ear build.
