Holding a PhD in Economics from the University of Bonn (Germany), I am currently a Lecturer at the Department of Finance at the Deakin Business School (Australia).
I received my BSc. in Economics from Xiamen University (China), BSc. in Management and Economics from Magdeburg University (Germany), and MSc. in Economics from the University of Bonn.
My research interests lie at the intersection of insurance, health, and behavioural economics. My current work examines questions related to pensions, life insurance, and health-related investment decisions, with particular attention paid to risk and behavioural preferences of insureds and their impacts.
In pensions, I focus on the optimal design of pension (re)insurance programmes and beneficiaries' optimal pension investment strategies. In life insurance, I study behavioural biases of policyholders and their impacts on insurers’ policy pricing and risk management. In health, I analyse individuals' reference health and its impacts on their economic decisions both financial and health-related.
