SYNOPSIS: I am currently the Coordinator/Economist for the IMF-World Bank  Joint Project assessing the possibility for a second generation HIPC Initiative (HIPC 2.0) . Previously, I was the Division Manager (OIC) for the Macroeconomic Policy, Debt Sustainability and Forecasting Division of the African Development Bank. I am also a member of Faculty (on leave of public service) at the Department of Economics, University of Uyo, Nigeria. 

I have an outstanding track record in leading and collaborating on policy-relevant economic intelligence and knowledge generation projects, and transforming them into tangible development actions through effective policy dialogue and capacity building in the public and non-governmental sectors. I started my career about 15 years ago as an Economist at the Central Bank of Nigeria. I later moved on to become a Lecturer/Assistant Professor at several universities around the world. 

Previously, I was Visiting Scholar at the IMF and I have consulted for several institutions including IDRC, UNU-WIDER, AERC; UNEP, SIDA, WAIFEM, among others. I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of Manchester, U.K.; an M.A in Economics from Simon Fraser University, Canada; and a first-class B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Uyo, Nigeria. I have also taken executive courses at the Harvard Kennedy School, Cambridge, USA and United Nations University--WIDER, Helsinki, Finland. 

My research and opinion pieces have appeared in the Brookings Institution, International Economics, The Manchester School, Review of Development Economics, The Conversation, and Oxford/LSE-IGC, among others.
