Your support helps me run free Trash to Art workshops and inspire the next generation to create with purpose, not perfection.
Trash to Art is a sustainability-focused community art initiative transforming waste into wonder. Running from August to November 2025, the project empowers local residents in Leicester—especially young people and underserved communities—to explore creative expression through recycled materials.
Through a series of free workshops, public installations, and a final exhibition, participants learn to turn everyday trash (bottle caps, string, scrap wood, etc.) into compelling artworks. The project promotes environmental awareness, creative skill-building, and community cohesion, demonstrating the powerful intersection of art and sustainability.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action)—Trash to Art fosters circular creativity, urban inclusion, and climate-conscious thinking at the grassroots level.
Project Timeline:
📍 Workshops: August–October
🎨 Final Exhibition: October/November
📍 Location: Leicester
Trash to Art is proudly supported by Arts Council England (ACE) and De Montfort University (DMU) as part of their commitment to community development, sustainability, and inclusive cultural engagement.

Hi, I’m Ndubuisi Chukwubuikem Daniels, also known as ChubbyDaniels—A visual artist and sustainability advocate with a background in civil engineering and architecture.
My journey began in civil engineering, where I first developed a fascination with structure, material, and purpose. But over time, I found a deeper calling: using art to tell stories, ignite reflection, and drive environmental awareness. With a background in Architecture and Sustainability, I now merge design thinking with creative expression, turning discarded materials like nails, string, bottle caps, and scrap wood into emotionally charged artworks.
My practice is rooted in the belief that waste is not worthless. I create bold, textured pieces that explore identity, resilience, and environmental rebirth—using what the world throws away to spark conversation and connection. Each work is both a visual statement and a call to rethink how we consume, discard, and create.
I’ve exhibited in both Nigeria and the UK, with highlights including:
– Curious George at Orisun Art Gallery
– The Lion King at Art Addiction Gallery
– Skyward Kiss at the Creo Art Exhibition
– Journey with a Broken Heart at LCB Depot and Enfield Community Art Exhibition
Beyond exhibitions, I contribute to sustainability education through community workshops, public initiatives, and creative advocacy. Currently, I’m expanding into caricature and contemporary portraiture, while continuing to explore how art can inspire global conversations on sustainability.
Let’s build a future where creativity and consciousness go hand in hand.
The world is overwhelmed by waste—but within that waste lies potential. Trash to Art is built on the belief that discarded materials can tell powerful stories, spark imagination, and bring communities together.
This is not a one-off project. It’s an evolving, long-term mission to transform how we see our environment and our role in shaping it. From one community to the next, Trash to Art continues—reaching more people, creating more dialogue, and inspiring sustainable action through creativity.
The journey is ongoing. There are still many places to reach and lives to impact.
