Meet the Head Coach:
Hello, my name is Robbie Harmelink! Thank you for checking out our website for the CHS Boys Soccer program. I cannot communicate enough how excited I am for the season and honored to be in the role that I am to walk alongside and coach these young men for this season.
My previous soccer experience before accepting the role of Head Coach has been filled with many years of personal playing and coaching roles. I have played the sport soccer from age 7 to this present day. I competed from recreational league soccer all the way to becoming a starter and captain for my college team at Jessup University in Northern California. Over my years of playing I earned various accolades such as team captain for every team I played on, regional awards for my efforts in goal, and being recognized as a character that exemplifies Sportsmanship at the collegiate level by my peers and fellow competitors. After college, I transitioned my playing experience to coaching at my alma-mater. I was an assistant coach with a focus on goalkeepers and defensive structure. Following my stint coaching at the collegiate level and moving to CDA, Idaho with my wife I accepted the assistant coaching position hear at CHS under Coach Ridgewell. Over the past 3 seasons, I have had the honor of coaching the young men that have called Coeur d'Alene High School home.
The 2025 season will be my 2nd year as the Head Coach for the program. With a record of 9-0-4 last year and overall record of 11-0-4 as a head coach within the program, I am looking forward to continue building this program to reach the standards and expectations that we have for each other.
Motto for the 2025 Season:
"Every great game comes from 100 good decisions. So let's be great in everything we do."
My focus and philosophy for the program is...
Culture:
Words do not win games or championships. We need to prove it, earn it. Earn the right to be Viking.
We are a team. Not a group of individuals.
We show up to work every day.
Play time is earned through effort and attitude day in and day out.
We are students first.
We are expected to respect our teammates, our coaches, officials, opponents, and opposing coaches regardless of the game.
Philosophy & Play-style:
Possession Based
High percentage play
High energy soccer
Everyone earns playing time. It is not given.
"We are owed nothing" -Nick Saban
