Adobe subscriptions got you down?  They're expensive.  These free alternatives aren't.  I don't claim they're as good.  Some have a slightly different utility.  And, as far as malware and compatibility go, I believe those listed below to be decent, but download at your own risk.  The golden rule is, read the dialog boxes during install to make sure you only get what you want from the download.  Also, be warned: some of these cost money in, say, the Microsoft Store app, but are free for download right from the source.  I've provided the free links.  Star ratings are my own.
