I am a professor in the Economics Department at the Villanova School of Business at Villanova University (outside of Philadelphia, PA USA). I currently hold the James Joo-Jin Kim Endowed Chair in Economics.

My focus within Economics is the political economy of foreign aid, a topic at the intersection of Economics and Political Science. This active area of research is the topic of my course titled The Political Economy of International Financial Instiuttions. My research includes statistical analysis that examines the influence of the U.S. and other major donors on the behavior of international financial institutions such as the World Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, the domestic politics of U.S. bilateral aid, and the impact of aid on developing countries. I also help maintain the UNGA-DM database on United Nations General Assemble decision-making.

I serve on the program committees of the annual international conferences called The Political Economy of International Organizations (PEIO) and The Political Economy of Aid and Development Society (PEADS). I am on the editorial board of the journal The Review of International Organizations,. I am the incoming editor of the journal and previously served as book review editor. I also run the Workshop on International Financial Institutions (WIFI).

You can access my official Villanova webpage here. Prior to joining the faculty at Villanova, I was in the Economics Department at Vassar College for a dozen years.
