Meet the Christmas in Harrison team!

Founded in 1986, Christmas in Harrison is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to spreading the joy and spirit of the holiday season in Harrison, Maine. We host a beloved community event each year that brings people together to celebrate the season with holiday cheer, music, food, and festive activities. Our mission is to ensure that every local family and individual can experience the warmth and magic of Christmas. Through generous donations and the support of our volunteers, we are able to provide festivities to brighten the holidays for those who need it most. Christmas in Harrison is more than just an event; it's a celebration of the strength and spirit of our community, coming together to share in the true meaning of the season.

Brittany Bennett

Brittany Bennett is a Nurse Practitioner by day and the President of Christmas in Harrison by night. It is no surprise she joined this board, as she has had a life-long obsession with Christmas.

The Christmas season holds a special place in Brit's heart for many reasons. She cherishes the sense of togetherness it brings, as loved ones gather around to celebrate traditions and create lasting memories. The festive atmosphere, with its twinkling lights, cozy decorations, and familiar carols. It fills her with warmth and nostalgia, transporting her back to cherished moments from years past.

Most importantly, Brit appreciates the spirit of generosity and goodwill that permeates the air, as people come together to spread kindness. Whether it's through giving gifts, volunteering, or simply sharing laughter and joy with others, she finds fulfillment in embodying the true essence of the season.

Brit feels Christmas allows us to slow down and reflect on the blessings in our lives, feeling grateful for the moments of joy and connection that the holiday season brings. She loves nothing more than sharing this experience, through this non-profit, with her community and ensuring they feel the same too.

Pamela Sessions

Pam Sessions has been involved with Christmas in Harrison to a small extent over the years as she loves Christmas! Christmas time holds a special place in her heart, core memories of walking through the Maine woods to cut down a tree, driving around on Christmas Eve to look for Santa and his reindeer in the sky, her mémère's mistletoe which she inherited when she passed, all the magic that she experienced as a child and is now creating for her boys comes back at Christmas time.

Getting involved with local boards in her life has also been a way for Pam to show her boys that community involvement is important, to challenge herself to learn new things & meet new people. In 2023, she joined the Christmas in Harrison board, the Harrison/Waterford PTO as Treasurer, & and the President-Elect of the Western Maine Council of the Mountain to Shores Board of Realtors.

Pam feels volunteering her time impacts the community, her children's education, and her fellow Realtors/Homeowners. Community involvement is crucial to her, it is a way to have your voice heard and be a part of the success of the community.

Heather Swain

Heather Swain joined the Board of Directors in the fall of 2023 as our Christmas in Harrison Treasurer. While she loves and will continue in this role, she has also taken on the position of Marketing Coordinator. Through this new role, she plans to assist with spreading holiday magic to everyone in our community!

Heather has always had a love for Christmas; the smells, the music, the traditions. However, her passion for the holiday grew three sizes the year she made thousands of cookies with her father & late stepmother to then give them to neighbors they’d never met, friends they missed dearly, and family they shared memories with.

Outside of Christmas, Heather is passionate about animals, mental health, and good people doing good things. When she’s not working with high school students at the Oxford Hills Technical School, you can find her lost in an excellent book or spending time with her family!

Jaime Rolfe

Jaime Rolfe has been involved with Christmas in Harrison for a few years, and is pleased to be joining our Board of Directors for 2024!

Her desire to be an impact in her community and to bring people together is the driving force for her involvement. Her creative nature and hands-on approach stems from her experience in the hospitality and service industries, from real estate, to barbering, bartending and food service.

She has joined the board as the Fundraising & Sponsorship Coordinator and looks forward to highlighting the many supportive businesses and sponsors in our community.

Marilyn Shaw

Marilyn French Shaw, after retiring, moved to our cozy town full-time with her husband in 2021. Her husband has been coming to Harrison for over 35 years and they bought a house here in 2011. For fun, she enjoys boating, traveling, snowmobiling and working out.

Marilyn grew up in Foxborough, Massachusetts (go Patriots!), went to Boston College Law School and was a corporate lawyer in Boston for over 30 years. She has 2 adult step-children who also live in Harrison and 4 senior (but spunky) rescue dogs.

Besides Christmas, Marilyn’s passion is animals. She is a former board member of Sweet Paws Rescue in Massachusetts and supports many animal rescue organizations. She is also involved with event planning for König Corp., a charity bringing car enthusiasts together to raise money for organizations dedicated to mental health and victims of abuse or trauma.
