According to the bridge guidelines and parameters, students will get into groups of two and attempt to design a bridge that will be able to support at least 15 pounds, while also having a mass lower than 40 grams. After designing the structure on a simulation software, we will create the 3-D model on SolidWorks, then construct a bridge using basswood and wood glue. The teams will then compete with their bridges, testing the carrying capacity and efficiency of the constructed bridge until failure. The team with the best weight to carrying capacity ratio will win the competition.
