Annually hosted by NASA, the JPL Invention challenge is a competition designed for engineering designers, from students in middle school to retired engineers in the area, to build their own models in hopes of winning the title for the year. The 2016 JPL Invention Challenge (the "Don't Waste a Drop" Challenge) is a task in which a mechanism must be created to have the ability to transfer 250 grams of water and a plastic goldfish 2 meters from the initial cup to the receiving cup as fast as possible without spilling too much water under certain rules and parameters.
