Christine Moser

About me

I am a professor of economics at Western Michigan University. My research is broadly in the area of development economics with interests in agricultural markets, food security, and food safety, and crime and conflict in rural areas. I received my PhD from Cornell University in Applied Economics in 2004.

I was the Associate Director of the American Economic Association Summer Program 2016-2020, hosted by Michigan State University in collaboration with Western Michigan University, and an instructor in the program.

I am currently the co-PI evaluating two large food security in Madagascar. I also have a research project in Jamaica studying the impact of livestock theft on farmers. My current PhD students are working on a wide range of topics including the impact of climate change in rural areas, food insecurity, and education policy.
