Session Description:

Join us and connect on nerd culture and creating a welcoming environment for the BIPOC fandom at your library. Beginning with a panel discussion of the benefits of reading comics and graphic literature, the preconference will include breakout sessions for collection development, programming, reference and readers advisory. This workshop will provide essential tools for comics librarianship and build a community of practice that will extend beyond JCLC. Attendees are encouraged to wear Wakanda cosplay, as well as other universes.
