In recent months, tensions have been rising between Taiwan and China. Taiwan says that they are independent of the People's Republic of China, but China says that Taiwan is actually Chinese territory and that they must reunify or face military conflict. Since late September, China has incurred into Taiwan's defense zone. This is all in violation of international laws. China has repeatedly sent their nuclear capable jets into Taiwan airspace. Multiple Chinese warships dot along Taiwanese waters as they conduct military training for a potential invasion of Taiwan. As the days, weeks, and months pass, China is getting closer and closer to a full invasion of Taiwan.
The United States has never actually taken a definitive stance on whether it will support Taiwan's claims of independence from China. Although the U.S does have diplomatic relations with Taiwan, and some trade agreements, there is nothing constructive between the two countries on defense. It seems the United States has opted to stay neutral on the issue of defending Taiwan and stopping China from invading it. This has all ramped up during Joe Biden's Administration, with no clean-cut definitive answer in defense of Taiwan, only words against. The U.S does send some military equipment to Taiwan, and has sent over 100 contractors to Taiwan to train their military, but it seems like as of now, the United States is doing the same thing it did to Afghanistan back in August of 2021.
To put things in a summary, it is obvious that the United States is not doing enough to defend Taiwan. We have trade interests in Taiwan, although Congress is signaling it will attempt to bring one of the biggest U.S-Taiwanese trades out of Taiwan, semi-conductors. But it seems that the U.S has determined that Taiwan just isn’t worth defending. There are so many options on the table that the President could use to defend Taiwan. He could issue sanctions on China for threatening Taiwan. He could send 10,000 military units or more with all the equipment necessary to defend Taiwan in the early weeks of an invasion. He can also do a similar thing President Trump did when he declared the capital of Israel as Jerusalem and moved the embassy. Simply just say Taiwan is an independent country (which it is) and change over 20 years of foreign policy bottleneck in one minute.
On October 21st, 2021, President Joe Biden participated in a CNN Town Hall with Anderson Cooper. In the town hall, Biden was asked about whether the U.S has an obligation to defend Taiwan. The President answered that the U.S does have a commitment to defend Taiwan. 2 days later, Press Secretary Jen Psaki walked back the President’s statements, saying that there is no change in Taiwanese policy, adding that the U.S still conducts itself under current agreements. On November 16th, 2021, a day after a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Biden was asked about defending Taiwan, he said that there is no change in policy, and that Taiwan has to decide whether or not they are an independent country. In saying this, he pretty much asserted that Taiwan was not already an independent country. He also said that the U.S does not encourage independence, and finished by saying that Taiwan should do what previous agreements require. Biden also added that the U.S would stay outside of Taiwanese territory. This pretty much means that he is completely abandoning Taiwan. The things he has said about Taiwan defending itself, and making up its own mind on independence is similar to what Joe Biden said about Afghanistan, when the U.S left back in August. Even with clear indication that the Taliban was going to take Afghanistan, President Biden kept saying everything was under control and going smoothly, but then, when Kabul fell to the Taliban, the President shifted his narrative to it being the Afghan military's fault. He abandoned Afghanistan and destroyed a democracy over 2,500 troops being in the country. What's to say he won't do this kind of thing again? Just like Afghanistan, President Biden has a clear indication that China will invade Taiwan. How so? It is because China’s ongoing buildup along Taiwan waters and constant incursions into defense zones. That is basically an indication of an active threat and a want to carry out the many threats of invasion. China has also warned the Biden Administration that Taiwan is a "red line" and warning the White House not to interfere with Taiwan.
President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden has ties to a financial firm owned by the Chinese government called BHR. Hunter Biden has invested in BHR and currently owns a 10% share of the firm. BHR just so happens to own a company called Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. This company specializes in creating lithium ion battery technology. China owns rights to some mines in Afghanistan. Due to some issues, they have not been able to actually utilize those lands. However, since the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has been formed, China has been trying to develop relations with the new government. It is likely that the Taliban government will open up the mines for China to use. These mines harbor the minerals needed to create lithium ion batteries. These batteries are needed to make electric cars work. Biden and Congress are trying to give millions of dollars to push the electric car business to the next level. The spending is included in the Build Back Better bill which is yet to pass the Senate. What does all of this have to do with anything? Well, first, Hunter Biden owns a 10% share in a company that owns another company which will have direct access to the lithium produced by Chinese owned mines in Afghanistan. If BBB passes Congress and the electric car business gets rolling, guess who gets a 10% share of all of those profits? The President of the United States’ son that’s who. It is probable that Biden exited Afghanistan in the way he did with the clear intent of making the Taliban the new leaders of the country so that China can get the lithium mining going. There simply is no reason why we left Afghanistan the way we did. There hadn't been any danger to the 2,500 units held in Afghanistan and certainly the decision to leave Afghanistan was not a decision for women's rights. So the question left is why? Why jeopardize 33 million people's lives, especially those of the women? The only answer left is that Biden did this to bring up the electric car market so CATL, of which BHR owns, of which Hunter Biden has a 10% share could make his family money.
All of these things should be worrisome to all of my fellow Americans and to the world. But, as usual, too many people are not keeping up with this issue. China wants to dominate the world. The Nazis tried it, now the Chinese will too. And this is not said without truth. The Nazis tortured various Jewish populations, and China is torturing the Uyghers. The communistic ideas of China are closely aligned with the radicalism of the Nazis. I'm telling you all that this is the next adversary, that this is the new threat. Worse yet, they've bought out the world, and even U.S leadership. If Taiwan falls, it will be a sign of things to come. As China learns it can get away with violations of international laws, it will then set its eyes out to other countries. Who will be next? Japan? South Korea? Maybe even Singapore? If we let Taiwan fall, we open up a rabbit-hole for future invasions. And in the end, what will be the result? In my opinion, it would be a one world China. But speaking in this present time, what do I think about Taiwan? If we continue this policy of non-defense, and say that Taiwan is not independent., eventually China will invade, the world will think it's fine, and maybe, just maybe there will be a U.N Security Council meeting on this, of which, as it always is, will come to nothing. Furthermore, if Taiwan is invaded, it may encourage Russia to invade Ukraine, of which it is currently preparing to do. So what is my opinion on when China will invade? I think the time China will invade Taiwan will be after the Beijing Olympics, sometime late February to late March of next year. The latest date I can see for an invasion would be sometime in early 2023 or 2024. I hope that China does not invade; I wish that Biden would put an end to their incursions, but I am already skeptical of Joe Biden and the Federal Government. As an American, I shouldn't have to wonder if my government is actually going to do the job that they are supposed to do. But unfortunately, after what I saw during the Afghanistan crisis, I doubt Joe Biden will lead this country to do what it needs to do: defend Taiwan. And so I say this, you may be all nice and cozy with your cup of hot chocolate and your Netflix (not that it's not cool to do that) but please at least pay attention to this issue, be watchful and mindful and when you can vote, make a conscious decision based on the events you see going on around the world. I have my opinions on Joe Biden's Presidency, but the fact is, he is hurting our country, and destroying our foreign policy. May God bless the people of Taiwan and keep them safe from oppression and persecution.
