1. Introduction
Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was elected President of the United States after he defeated incumbent President Donald John Trump in the 2020 election. Biden took office on January 20th, 2021 and signed multiple Executive Orders on his first day in office. His first Executive Orders include a 99-day mask mandate, a Federal government provision to support racial equity and poor black communities, an order to provide for a government response to COVID-19, and revocations of various Trump Administration policies that removed Obama-era regulations on the economy and the environment. Biden revoked many Trump policies related to controlling the Southern border and signed new immigration revisions. The changes have led to the immigration crisis during 2021 where over 2.3 million illegal immigrants entered the United States. Biden also shut down the Keystone Pipeline which led to the loss of tens of thousands of jobs and led to the end of energy independence. Finally, Biden signed the Paris Climate Accords, an agreement with other countries that mandates certain environmental policies in order to combat climate change. These policies drastically restrict the economy and the energy sector. China is a member of the Paris Climate Accords, but they don't have to enforce any policies until 2036. As it is, China already owns 14% of the world economy. While the world economy will backslide, China will expand. Biden’s first year as President is defined by this characteristic of the United States falling back, and China moving forward. Increasing aggression and authoritarianism are now the dominant political norms across the world. Democracy is seemingly failing around the world as socialism becomes a popular idea. Biden has made the United States an example of this failure. From the border crisis, to major foreign policy failures; this comprehensive essay will outline Biden’s first year in office and will give an indication of what to expect of the Presidency going forward. With facts, and some opinion presented, leave it to yourself to decide whether this Presidency is a failure, or a success.
2. Coronavirus Response
Biden has made it his top priority to recover the United States from the COVID-19 pandemic. Biden uses several approaches to combatting COVID. He used the Defense Production Act to mobilize the production of vaccines, equipment, and ventilators. He also ordered the government to enforce a data-driven response to the COVID pandemic and created a COVID-19 Pandemic Testing Board. Biden has tied COVID-19 with racial inequality and racism in regards to disproportioned response and resource sharing with regards to racial communities. He has established the Health and Human Services COVID-19 Equity Task Force. Biden expanded access to care and treatments for combatting COVID-19 and started a travel policy to keep COVID from spreading by requiring masks to be worn on federally regulated modes of travel.
Across the nation, schools were closing to do remote learning. Many parents and their children found that remote learning was not as effective as in-person learning. Thus, parents demanded that schools reopen. Biden wasn't necessarily always on-board with the idea of getting America back to in-person learning. In a Press Briefing, the White House Press Secretary said how there should be a one day a week re-opening of schools. The Administration never actually had a plan for addressing parents concerns over schools not re-opening. In the end, Biden took a position to reopen schools. However, teachers unions were abusing the coronavirus pandemic as a means to call for strikes and push for remote learning. These strikes obstructed the reopening of schools for months. Eventually, the country was able to get back to in-person schooling.
President Trump signed the first COVID-19 Stimulus Package before he left office. In March, President Biden signed a second round of COVID-19 stimulus checks. The bill cost the U.S $1.9T dollars and helped some Americans recover from the coronavirus pandemic.
In May, Biden promised that the U.S would produce a billion vaccines. He achieved that goal and by the end of 2021, most Americans got vaccinated.
On August 27th, the Biden Administration released a report on the coronavirus pandemic origins and came to the conclusion that the origins of the virus were "inconclusive." However, there is evidence to prove that the coronavirus came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a Chinese lab. In fact, since 2005, the United States government has been working with the Chinese government to do tests on SARS coronaviruses, including tests of these viruses on bats. The COVID-19 pandemic just so happens to be a SARS coronavirus (SARS.CoV2). The U.S government has been funding the Wuhan Institute of Virology via funding a company named EcoHealth Alliance. Records show that the Department of Health and Human Services received reports from EcoHealth Alliance that spoke of studies to ensure that bats and humans could coincide. Basically, they were studying the use of bats and viruses to somehow mitigate the risks of a pandemic. Shockingly, the Wuhan Institute of Virology was actually infecting bats with new modified coronaviruses that were made to be more infectious than an original strain of SARS. It has been alleged that the COVID-19 pandemic was being developed as a biochemical weapon. In the end, the virus leaked out of the Wuhan lab and the Chinese government lied about the virus in the early critical months that action needed to be taken to prevent a pandemic. As early as September, China knew that the virus had leaked out and that scientists in the Wuhan lab were infected. China told the world that the coronavirus was contained and not a highly spreadable communicable disease. They lied and the virus spread. The coronavirus was modified so that it could transmit to more people than naturally possible. This virus was made by design to be released into a population, and if that population reaches contact with other populations, the virus would spread at a rapid rate. There is no way that the Chinese government and health officials in the U.S government did not know about the coronavirus. Since the U.S has been giving the Chinese technology and funding to study these viruses since 2005, they would have known the tests being conducted. Evidently a corrupt few of the top health officials in the United States hid this pandemic research from past Presidents. Even President Trump did not know about the EcoHealth Alliance funding. In the early months of the pandemic, an effort was pursued to ensure social media giants censored any conversations of the Wuhan lab leak theory on their platforms and those who supported the theory were labeled conspiracy theorists. But in the end, the lab leak theory has been proven by the government's funding of the Wuhan Institute of Virology and its foreknowledge of the Chinese' studies on SARS coronaviruses which led to the release of SARS.CoV2.
In an attempt to encourage Americans to get vaccinated and for eligible Americans to get a booster shot, President Biden received a COVID-19 booster shot. The event was on September 27th and began his habit of using the Eisenhower Executive Office building set for his speeches.
President Biden made it the policy of his Administration to institute vaccine mandates. Although emergency powers have been used before for infectious diseases during Gerald R. Ford's Administration, it did not come to a mandate of vaccination. No part of the Constitution gives the President any power to mandate any kind of health treatment or procedure outside of immediate Federal employment. Joe Biden issued a vaccine mandate that spilled over into non-Federal employees. He did this by ordering OSHA to mandate vaccinations for employees of businesses having 100 or more workers. Thus, most businesses in the U.S mandated vaccination for employment. This led to many individuals who did not want to receive the vaccine to lose their jobs. Many health care workers who worked hard to fight COVID-19 during the initial spike in hospitalizations were fired because of health care vaccine mandates. The vaccine mandate also led to the airport shortages across the nation that kept Americans from using basic transportation services. Furthermore, the people's right to freedom of choice was violated by the vaccine mandate as the government denied Federal employees health and religious exemptions. The vaccine mandates did achieve a goal to vaccinate most of the U.S population. But, the mandates also solidified the population of people who did not want to receive the vaccine, to never get vaccinated. It also destroyed trust in the Federal government for people that have a skeptical view of government vaccines. The question of whether or not the vaccine mandates are unconstitutional has been answered. The Supreme Court issued a decision that deemed the vaccine mandates on non-Federal and non-health care employees unconstitutional, thus ending said mandates for non-Federal and non-health care employees. Now, the executive branch will have no power to issue mandates on any employee outside of the Federal government and the health care sector. If a mandate is ever to be done on the private sector of the country, Congress will have to pass a law to mandate vaccines. The vaccine mandates were a mistake from the beginning. When Biden was President-Elect, he said he would not issue a vaccine mandate. Biden’s health care officials also reiterated that mandates would not be put in place. Dr. Anthony Fauci even said that the mandates would be unenforceable and violate personal freedom. In the end, Biden, the health care officials, and Dr. Anthony Fauci became the biggest supporters of vaccine mandates, contradicting their original stance on the policy.
In late 2021, most of America had been vaccinated. However, two coronavirus variants, Delta and Omicron spread rapidly. Individuals who were vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine were quickly re-infected with minor to severe symptoms. This raised the question as to how effective the Pfizer vaccine really is. Evidence is showing that the Pfizer vaccine is losing efficacy to new variants. The mistake made by Biden is that he bought billions of doses of Pfizer, and did not push for the use of the Johnson & Johnson, or Moderna vaccines which are more effective against COVID-19 and its variants. If Biden does not begin vaccinating Americans with Johnson & Johnson or Moderna, we will eventually see a reinfection of vaccinated individuals when new variants show up.
Biden has complained in the past that Trump did not do enough to stop COVID-19. Biden has also called Trump's travel ban on China and other countries "xenophobic." However, Biden has done the exact same thing that Trump did when he instated travel bans on South Africa in response to the Omicron variant. Trump was against lockdowns during the height of the pandemic with much scrutiny from the media, and Biden chose not to do lockdowns even when a surge of Omicron and Delta occurred, yet Biden received no scrutiny from the media. Trump purchased most of the Pfizer vaccine supply used during the first few months of Biden's Presidency, yet the media said that Trump wasn’t doing enough to get vaccines released. Biden has purchased more vaccines; however, he said that when he came into office that there were no vaccines. The media did not correct the President, and let him take credit for the vaccines. In each moment when Biden and Trump's policy on COVID-19 reached an agreement, the criticism on Trump was not portrayed on Biden.
President Biden failed to assess testing. Much like the situation during Trump's Presidency, COVID-19 tests were a mess to get a hold of. In the last month of Biden's first year, a COVID-19 test shortage occurred when millions of Americans went out to receive tests during the Omicron spike. The country ran out of test kits and people could not find out whether they were infected with COVID-19 or not. However, this situation was not scrutinized by the media when it occurred under Biden, only when it happened under Trump.
Biden has repeatedly blamed the unvaccinated for the surge in COVID-19. But the truth is, as Americans were being vaccinated, a surge of illegal immigrants came into the country. The government promised to test each illegal immigrant, but public records show that only 20% have actually been tested. This means that we don't know if those illegal immigrants have COVID-19 or not. The Delta variant surged during the heights of both nationwide vaccinations and the border crisis. Since many illegal immigrants entering the U.S are from countries other than Mexico, it is possible that the Delta surge came from these migrants. There are migrants from as far as the Middle East to Central America and even Africa that have entered the United States illegally. Some of the countries in these regions had a surge in the Delta variant cases. Furthermore, Pfizer which has been made into the main vaccination source by the Federal government has lost its efficacy to the new COVID variants and the original virus. We keep getting boosted with Pfizer, yet it keeps losing its efficacy against the coronavirus. Many of the people in hospitals are vaccinated and many of the cases in our country are of vaccinated people being re-infected. To say that this is a pandemic of the unvaccinated is not true as it is a pandemic of many factors that can’t simply be enumerated to one issue. This messaging from the White House has hurt their vaccination strategy even further and has sown deeper polarization of the country. Another case of mixed messaging is the Federal government’s instating and revocation of Federal mask mandates three different times across 2021. These mandates and their back-and-forth removal and reinstatement have confused many Federal employees and military service members.
By the end of 2021, more people died from coronavirus than in 2020. This meant that more people died from COVID-19 under President Biden than under President Trump. When this became apparent, the media did not criticize Biden like they criticized Trump. Biden on the campaign trail said that no President should be in office if they have 200,000 deaths. Now that Biden has exceeded that under his Presidency, he has not called for his own removal. Even with more restrictive policies, criticism of Republican states for opening up, and instating unconstitutional vaccine mandates: President Biden still continues to play politics with the pandemic. Much of the successful operations that Biden has created are the same that Trump pursued. However, the plans he added did not help to stop COVID-19, and the truth is no virus can be completely contained. It is not Trump or Biden's fault for the deaths of 850,000 people. But, it is the offset consequence of the U.S government's funding of a shady Chinese lab and the Chinese government's lies about what they were developing, and when the virus actually leaked. Biden should demand reparations from the Chinese government for their dangerous tests and their lies about COVID origins. Also, Biden should order an immediate background check and internal investigation of all health agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services to determine who may be responsible for not providing oversight into the funding of EcoHealth Alliance which funded the Wuhan Institute of Virology. But instead of tackling these necessary and controllable problems, Biden has turned to using the pandemic for politics. He tied racial equity to pandemic response, failed to measure the efficacy of the Pfizer vaccine (which the government continues to order despite its clear decrease in effectiveness against the coronavirus) and he blamed the unvaccinated for the pandemic, which in turn, only divided this country further.
By mid-December, the Omicron variant spread all throughout the United States. Biden's policies on COVID-19 began to break down as a COVID test shortage made it hard for people to get tested and only created long lines which helped spread COVID even further. The CDC then changed guidelines on cloth masks, urging Americans to get N-95 masks instead. The change in messaging and the failure of the Administration’s policies led Americans to question why they had been following guidelines for so long. Worst of all, vaccinated people were getting re-infected with coronavirus. By the time that the vaccines were given to most Americans, Biden should have pushed for the development of therapeutics. It was clear early on that studies showed Pfizer would be ineffective to future variants of coronavirus and continue to lose its effectiveness against existing ones. The Pfizer vaccine is continuing to lose efficacy but the government is still buying the company’s vaccines and will now also purchase their pills. With no change in policy or a push to use the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, COVID-19 will be a factor we will have to live with. In response to the early Omicron cases, Biden visited the National Institute of Health. There, Biden made a speech about Omicron and told the American people that he will expand booster vaccinations and urged Americans to get the booster. He also urged children to get vaccinated and also committed to creating a contingency plan for vaccinations.
On December 22nd, President Biden promised to release 500 million at-home COVID tests for free and a website where individuals could order them. Some disruptions occurred due to supply shortages, but the plan has rolled out and those who order the free tests will receive them in the mail.
In the wake of the coronavirus, two states, Mississippi and Texas were the first in the country to open up their states from coronavirus restrictions and mandates. This meant that no restrictions were in place to control COVID-19 when it comes to the citizens. Biden called Texas and Mississippi "neanderthals" for doing this. However, by the end of 2021 pretty much all the states in the country have opened up. Sadly, statistics show that the states that locked down during the pandemic actually had more deaths than those that decided to open. Liberal states sacrificed freedoms and their economy, yet failed to stop the spread of COVID. This showed that the coronavirus could not be controlled and just has to be something we all live with.
In direct contradiction to his COVID-19 policies, his past comments about Trump's response to COVID and Republican states' letting people decide on wearing masks and getting vaccinated, President Biden said that there is “no Federal solution" to stopping COVID-19. However, Biden has tried to handle everything from a Federal level and has even violated the Constitution with his short-lived vaccine mandates.
President Biden’s COVID-19 strategy is far from perfect. Much of his successful plans are the same as President Trump’s. Probably the best addition to the fight against coronavirus is Biden’s COVID-19 Testing Board. Other than that, he failed to create a dynamic treatment solution and vaccination choice so that Americans could choose what they wanted to do to protect from COVID.
3. Health Care
The Biden Administration has made health care a part of its central focus. However, much of the Administration’s plans have been stalled as the Build Back Better legislation collapsed in the U.S Senate, forcing the President to go back to the drawing board and break-up the Build Back Better plan into individual packages.
Biden reinstated several Affordable Care Act policies taken down during Trump's Presidency. He revoked a Trump order that promoted citizens' choice in health care and encouraged health care industry competition. Biden's revocations have allowed for powerful drug companies to have more control of people's health care.
In June, a variation of the avian bird flu, H10N3 infected a human. H10N3 is not supposed to affect humans, but the virus successfully infected one Chinese individual. The Chinese government has said that H10N3 has a low chance of transmission. Since then, only one other case has been reported, that being in India. On July 21st, 2021, a person living in India died from H10N3. Since then, the virus has not affected any other individuals or transmitted to create a pandemic. The virus however, is still prevalent in chickens and birds.
Biden signed Executive Order 14036 which ordered the Secretary of Health and Human Services to promote low-cost hearing aids in public policy, support hospital transparency and health care choice, and also ordered the Secretary to lower prescription drug prices.
President Biden added measles to the list of quarantinable communicable diseases.
In a speech on Build Back Better, President Biden said his legislative agenda will lower prices on insulin and enforce excise taxes on pharmaceutical companies if prices are not set to inflationary increases.
Biden’s health care policy hasn’t gotten anywhere in his first year. It would be smart if Biden broke up his insulin, hearing aid coverage, and other medical policy into a health care version of Build Back Better which, likely would get Republican support and pass. However, the full breakdown of an individualized Build Back Better package has not been resolved yet.
4. Immigration Crisis
Under Joe Biden's Presidency, America saw a surge of over 2.3 million illegal immigrants from all over the world that entered into the Southern border. Biden's revocations of Trump policies and restrictions on ICE and Border Patrol agencies turned border enforcement agents into social workers. There were so many individuals to process, that Border Patrol used most of its agents to handle paperwork and asylum statuses. The real border enforcement had to be supplemented by the National Guard, which did not have the authority to apprehend illegal immigrants. Thus, a dangerous situation was left; illegal immigrants from all over the world came into country, just passing through in the sight of border agents. Outnumbered and sometimes, outgunned, it would be nearly impossible for small groups of border enforcement to handle the thousands of migrants entering in at any given time. Thus, hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants were able to escape apprehension, meaning that there could possibly be over a million undocumented individuals who have entered the country without the government knowing it. That would mean that over 3 million individuals have entered the United States illegally.
Due to Biden's revocations, all 1.9 million illegal immigrants that have been apprehended will be released into the United States. Basically, apprehension is just another statistic and does not mean they have been deported. The increase in illegal immigrants coming into our country has led to a rise in fentanyl drug trade and other illicit drugs. As a result, there have been 100,000 overdose deaths in 2021. The border crisis has also led to the deaths of many migrants. Some migrants drowned in waters, died in deserts, or were killed in accidents. Armed hitmen have also entered into the United States, killed 2 U.S citizens, and even clashed with border patrol.
The Supreme Court demanded that President Biden reinstate one of Trump's policies called Remain in Mexico. Biden defied the order for almost a month. He eventually reinstated it but has been using the Department of Homeland Security to leave it unenforced. Only 230 individuals have been processed under the Remain in Mexico program in December. Since the reinstating of Remain in Mexico, Biden has tried to revoke the order in several ways, but attempts so far have failed. Furthermore, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ handling of border policy has violated Remain in Mexico. Secret flights, use of ICE resources, and trafficking of illegal immigrants all across the country who are supposed to be deported is in direct violation of Remain in Mexico. The Biden Administration is breaking the law as the Supreme Court ordered them to reinstate the policies. In using the Department of Homeland Security to enforce ‘shadow policies’ they effectively work against the public policy provisions of Remain in Mexico, thus violating the law.
Biden made tent cities to house illegal immigrants before they were released into the United States. The conditions at these facilities were the same as Trump’s, if not worse. The government packed so many people into these facilities that social distancing was impossible. Coronavirus soon spread at these facilities, but instead of quarantine, they released these individuals into the country. Trump was criticized for putting "kids in cages." But Biden has left them in aluminum foil blankets, tent cities, and packed facilities with some children being exposed to sexual abuse and rape by other illegal immigrants.
Biden and Kamala Harris' response to the immigration crisis was lacking. Kamala Harris made a few trips to Central American countries and used the slogan "root causes" in trying to determine why there was a sudden spike in illegal immigration crossings into the United States. None of what Biden and Harris did actually solved the problem, but only caused it. The whole response was political from the start. Biden tried to blame President Trump for a broken immigration system and repeatedly denied that there was even a crisis.
On February 2nd, 2021, Biden established a task force to reunify family members that were separated from previous immigration policies. Another order enhanced programs for refugee resettlement and cited the Climate crisis as a cause for migration. President Biden used the Federal Emergency Management Agency to help slow down illegal immigration at the Southern Border, but this effort failed. On March 24th, 2021, Vice President Kamala Harris was tasked with handling resolutions related to the handling of unaccompanied minors at the border. Later, she was named the Border Czar and was given the task of handling the Southern border. Harris was not present to fulfill her new duties and to this day she still has not. Harris did make a visit to Texas to see the border crisis, but she never actually went to the border, she only did a conference outside of an airport. It took Biden until April 18th, 2021 to finally acknowledge that the border crisis had gotten out of control. During the border crisis, Biden raised the refugee cap to 62,500, but many more illegal immigrants were entering the country than that and were still allowed to stay. This was due to the Catch and Release policy that Biden reinstated. The policy essentially lets illegal immigrants come in, be processed, and then released into the country with a court date. Almost none of the illegal immigrants actually show up to their day in court and they are simply unaccounted for. By June, the CBP statistics confirmed that 1,119,204 illegal immigrant apprehensions had occurred since January of 2021. In July the number of illegal immigrant apprehensions rose to 1,331,822. The numbers kept going up until they reached a final statistic of 2.1 million apprehensions and 400,000 confirmed gotaways.
In his first day in office, President Biden cancelled the funding for the border wall that was appropriated by Congress during Trump’s Presidency. All the contractors that had setup to build the wall and were continually building it were ordered to stop. This cost millions of dollars to cancel the contracts. Instead of wasting the remaining funds to cancel the contracts on border wall construction, Biden could have simply left it alone and the wall would have been completed, thus the money would have been used for its intended purpose and the border crisis would have been prevented. The wall had already been built and was almost complete. Biden’s decision to cancel the remaining construction left pockets in the wall where illegal immigrants could easily come in from, thus defeating the purpose of building a wall for the past 2 and a half years. However, Biden approved a project on the Rio Grande levee but since then, has not committed to continuing construction of the border wall.
President Biden has allowed over a two million illegal immigrants to enter the country. But for some reason, the media picked up on Haitian migrants housed under a bridge, but not the humanitarian crises, the out-of-control flooding of the border, and the Administration’s failed handling of the crisis. Biden ordered the deportation of these Haitians yet for some reason lets illegal immigrants from all over the world enter our country illegally. The actual amount deported was minimal and most were released according to reports. Biden used the Haitian migrants as a publicity stunt to make the media run the narrative that he was handling the border crisis which they themselves do not cover. The only large news outlets to cover the border crisis are Fox News and Newsmax, while CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, and ABC barely cover the crisis. In another event, Biden and Harris condemned several officers who whipped Haitian migrants. The President and Vice President tried to make it seem like the incident occurred because of racism. The truth however, is that the officers were trying to move the Haitians away from the horses that, if you know anything about taking care of a horse, their hoofs can severely hurt your feet if accidentally stomped on. By whipping the migrants out the way of the horses’ hoofs, they do less damage to the individuals than would be possible had the horses stomped on their feet by accident. On September 24th, Vice President Kamala Harris visited the ABC network show "The View" and talked about the Haitian whipping incident. She said that the incident brought back the "worst moments of our history where that kind of behavior has been used against the indigenous people of our country." When she said indigenous people, she actually laughed while saying it and smiled.
While the immigration crisis was in full effect, the media did not pick up on a report that cartels sent hitmen into the United States and even had clashes with Border Patrol. 2 U.S citizens were killed by the hitmen. Arial footage also showed the hitmen entering into the country and one video showing a different group shooting automatic rifles.
The Biden Administration issued secret flights and busings of illegal immigrants around the country. These immigrants have been sent to many Republican states as well as Democrat ones. These flights are being done at night secretly without airport or state officials knowing anything about them. The Biden Administration’s secret flights and busings have not gained much media attention.
On November 1st, reports came out saying that the Biden Administration was going to payout illegal immigrants who were housed in facilities during the Trump Administration $450,000 each. The plan was going to cost an estimated $1 billion dollars. On November 3rd, Biden said that the report about the $450,000 payments to illegal immigrants was "garbage" and "not gonna happen." However, the White House Deputy Press Secretary said that the President would like to do the payments and said that the Department of Justice would have a say in the process. Thus, she contradicted what the President said about the report being garbage. On November 6th, Biden confirmed that the Department of Justice would be paying $450,000 to illegal immigrants processed during Trump's "zero-tolerance" policy. However, these payments have been cancelled and the Administration is no longer planning on doing them anymore.
On December 15th, President Biden signed an Executive Order which will sanction individuals responsible for the illicit drug trade. This includes cartels, organizations, and affiliates which aid in producing or distributing illegal drugs. This is in response to the outrageous increase in fentanyl and other illegal drugs being smuggled into the United States.
President Biden’s handling of the border has been a disaster. The media refuses to cover it, and when they do, they give their viewers snippets and only talk about it when it fits their political narrative. There are many Americans who do not know the full facts about the border crisis. Although the Administration lies about there not being an open-border, there is effectively a ‘silent’ open-border. Breaking the law, sacrificing national security, and allowing illegal immigrants to come into this country by the hundreds of thousands is unacceptable and frankly, a completely avoidable situation. Had Biden kept the border wall construction contracts and Trump’s immigration policies; Biden would have had the most secure border in American history and could have easily cruised through his Presidency without any news or occurrence of illegal immigration and increasing drug trade. The consequences of Biden’s ineffective handling of the border will be severe. Although many migrants who come to this country should legitimately be here, many more are here to take advantage of our country’s sensitive state and deteriorating legal system. Crime will increase, homicide rates will go up, and drugs will infest our country. Though much of this will only affect the big cities and liberal states, it will still seep in harmful effects to states and towns that heavily enforce the law.
5. Military
Joe Biden has had an impact on the United States Armed Forces in a largely negative way. In various parts of the military, leadership is training critical race theory and equity in education material for service members. This training teaches communist ideals and how America is racist. This is not the kind of training our men and women in the U.S Military need to be going through. In the coming years, these programs will be executed in a more robust manner. This means that more and more of the military will be exposed to critical race theory and racial equity training. If this happens, the service members of the military will lose their morale and services to the nation may be seemingly discouraged due to them being told that their country is racist and that white people are inherently racist because of past history and so-called “white privilege.”
Early in Biden's Presidency, he revoked an Executive Order made by Donald Trump that removed all transgender members of the military. This order was largely made to boost efficiency and to cut the expensive transgender surgeries that were being paid as a part of the military's health budget. Essentially, transgender individuals were joining the military to abuse these funds. Instead of being directed to veterans or those injured, costly surgeries for gender reassignment and genital surgeries were being done for the transgender service members. This meant that millions of dollars could be reallocated to these useless surgeries that did nothing to support and defend the nation or address real health concerns. This revocation has now enabled transgender individuals to join the United States military and opens up funding for gender reassignment and genital surgeries.
Biden pulled U.S forces out of Yemen and Iraq. There are currently a few troops left behind in Iraq to train that country’s military.
On November 8th, satellite images showed China conducting training on replicas of U.S Navy warships and other marine craft.
The National Space Council was created on December 1st. The council's goals are to co-ordinate space policy and advise the President on policy changes regarding space. Vice President Kamala Harris is the chairwoman of the council and also the Advisor to the President on Space Policy.
President Biden signed the FY2022 Defense Budget. The budget is $768.2 billion.
6. Domestic Policy
Probably the most active fields of Biden’s focus are domestic policy; which is filled with advancing racial equity, spending trillions of dollars, and trying to advance his voting rights and infrastructure agenda. With some successes and an equal number of failures, Biden’s domestic policy is one of the most impactful parts of his Presidency so far.
President Biden stopped the use of privately owned prisons for incarceration. This essentially meant that prisoners would be housed in Federal facilities and not private prisons.
Early in Biden's Presidency, a power outage occurred in Texas. A deep freeze stopped a windmill plant that shut down power for many communities. However, President Biden still pushes the idea of using windmills and is a supporter of the energy source.
Biden has revoked many of Trump's economic policies including an apprenticeship and anti-poverty policy. Donald Trump made an effort to deregulate many industries that were negatively impacted during the Obama Presidency. Biden quickly undid those changes and is likely to reproduce the regulations that existed during Obama's Presidency. In his first day in office, Biden shut down the Keystone Pipeline. This has led to the quick rise in gas prices. The President has also put in place various transportation and trucking policies to fight climate change that will also negatively impact the energy sector.
One of the most confusing Executive Orders made by President Biden is his order to allow transgender athletes to play in women's sports. While most Americans are trying to propel LGBTQ+ rights, this is not a way to do it. First of all, women and men do not play in professional sports with each other. The reason why? It is because men are biologically stronger than women it’s why you don't see women swimming with men or men having a boxing match with women. Just imagine if Arnold Schwarzenegger put on some pink lipstick and said he was a female and then began professionally boxing against women in women’s boxing matches! It would be a complete destruction of the entire sport and there would be a public outrage! Thankfully, Schwarzenegger is not transgender, but you can apply the idea in your head just to help you understand how outrageous this Executive Order is. Some may say that it is offensive to say a transgender person is still of a gender. But, the truth is: God created us male and female. Nothing you change will ever make a difference. Biologically, you’re still a male. So, this policy to allow transgender athletes has led certain women's sports competitions to be broken. There are a few instances across the country of males playing in women's sports where they always win, receive medals, and break the records that women for years have been working hard to achieve. Biden's policy to support the rights of transgender individuals, just took one away from a woman. In time to come, more 'athletes' will realize the opportunity they have to win easy medals. You are going to see more men play in women's sports and it will completely break the whole point of women’s professional sports. Another bad occurrence that can happen because of this policy is that women can fail to qualify against other men. It has happened a few times so far, but in the future, women's sports competitions could be dominated by transgender men.
Biden created the Gender Policy Council in March. Essentially, the council is tasked with coordinating the Federal government to enforce gender equity, prevent systemic biases and discrimination and support of LGBTQ+ rights. It also aims to increase the labor force with women and to support gender equity, decrease wealth gaps, promote gender equity leadership, promote expanded access to health care for sexual and reproductive health and rights, and to combat gender stereotypes in education. The council also wants to empower girls, and prevent gun violence. Biden also wants to create a Federal workforce environment free from discrimination on the basis of sex, or sexual orientation.
Biden has made several attempts to modernize voting. Biden ordered that vote.gov be updated and has ordered the Departments of government to educate the American people on their right to vote. However, Biden has also politicized voting rights. At first, President Biden said that he would not end the Senate filibuster, but in December, he quickly changed that. For about 2 days Biden went on a mission to end the filibuster and to instate the Democrat’s voting rights legislation. Biden has repeatedly called Georgia's and other Republican states’ new election laws "Jim Crow." And “Jim Crow 2.0.” However, much of these provisions are present in Biden's home state of Delaware and there is no criticism of his own state. President Biden also thinks that Voter ID laws hinder black Americans from voting. This however, this is false. In 2012, more black Americans voted than white Americans and the country had the traditional Voter ID laws as it does now. Biden also wants mail-in balloting without any signature checks or validation. This provision is dangerous since individuals could be able to duplicate or modify votes without anyone knowing about it. Another item Biden wants for voting rights is automatic registration. Essentially, any individual who has any kind of legal document like a driver's license; bank statement, etc., would automatically be registered to vote. He continued his voting rights comments until the Senate failed to pass the voting rights and filibuster legislation. Two Senators, Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema of the Democrat party voted against both bills, stopping the removal of the Senate filibuster, and effectively ending the Democrat’s voting rights legislation.
In March, Biden created a commission to look into possible changes to the Supreme Court. This coupled with an effort by Democrats in Congress to "unpack" the courts by adding four new Supreme Court justices who would be appointed by Biden to nullify Trump's three appointments (though Democrats in Congress just a few years earlier held that the Supreme Court should only have 9 justices, using the slogan '#WENEEDNINE') their stance quickly changed, yet their efforts to "unpack" the Supreme Court failed when Biden's commission came back with a negative on adding new justices.
Before he was President, Biden visited with George Floyd's family numerous times. On April 20th, 2021, Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all three counts against him. Biden said that the verdict was a step forward for America.
Biden signed an Executive Order in April that set priorities for his Administration to enforce policy that empowers individuals to unionize and work for a better workplace environment. The order created the Worker Organizing and Empowerment Task Force. However, the order revoked two Executive Orders made by President Trump called: Establishing the President's National Council for the American Worker and Continuing the President's National Council for the American Worker and the American Workforce Advisory Board.
Like most Democrats running for President in 2020, Biden jumped on the bandwagon and endorsed making the minimum wage $15 an hour. Although Biden cannot make a minimum wage increase for the private sector, he can instate it on the Federal government. Biden signed an order to increase the Federal minimum wage to $15 an hour. The new pay will be in effect by May 30th, 2022.
President Biden addressed a Joint-Session of Congress on April 28th, 2021 and highlighted that the United States has its first female Vice President. Biden has a few firsts for having black individuals in key offices. Kamala Harris is the first black Vice President, and Lloyd Austin is the first black Secretary of Defense.
On May 10th, a critical pipeline for the U.S was hacked. The Colonial Pipeline was taken offline by a Russian hacking group. This pipeline supplies 45% of the East Coast with fuel. Gas prices soared in affected areas and shortages occurred. Biden denied that Russia was responsible for the ransomware attack, but the FBI already confirmed that the group DarkSide, which is a Russian hacking group, was responsible for the attack. In response to the pipeline attack, the Department of Transportation issued an emergency declaration that temporarily revoked certain restrictions set to promote green energy and climate initiatives so that the industry could work efficiently to supply the East Coast with their fuel needs. In a miscalculated press briefing, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm spoke about the Colonial Pipeline hacking and wide-range fuel shortages where she made a remark saying that if drivers were driving electric cars they wouldn't be have to worry about fuel shortages. This immediately brought criticism of the Biden Administration for trying to promote electric cars during an infrastructure crisis, especially since electric cars aren’t readily available in the market yet. The crisis ended when the Colonial Pipeline went back online after the company payed $5 million dollars in cryptocurrency to DarkSide (with assistance from the FBI). After the pipeline attack, the FBI was able to recover $2.3 million in cryptocurrency. In response to the cyberattack on the Colonial Pipeline, Biden signed an Executive Order aimed at improving the nation's cybersecurity.
When the media began covering increasing hate crimes against Asian Americans, Biden signed an Anti-Asian Hate Crime Bill to address the rising violence and made several speeches to show his support for Asian Americans.
In coordination with the government’s new policies on racial equity, Secretary of State Antony Blinken gave the Department of State the authority to fly Black Lives Matter flags at facilities and embassies. He has also allowed individuals to engage in Black Lives Matter activities at these facilities.
Executive Order 14031 Advancing Equity, Justice, and Opportunity for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders set forth a policy of racial equity amongst these populations. The order said that America was anti-Asian, xenophobic, racist, and held nativist views that were deeply rooted into the nation. The order established the President's Advisory Commission on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. It also created the position of Deputy Assistant to the President and Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Liaison. The order set a government goal to eliminate anti-Asian hate and enforce racial equity for Asian-Americans.
President Biden signed an Executive Order Protecting Americans' Sensitive Data from Foreign Adversaries which revoked an order made by President Trump that prepared to block access to TikTok and ByteDance services in the United States or at least transfer ownership of those services to Oracle or some other American company. Trump tried to do this since ByteDance is associated with the Communist Chinese Party. As it is, Biden stopped any actions that might have taken place against TikTok's parent company with regards to its ties to China. Biden did order the Commerce Department to look into the Chinese-TikTok connection, but so far, nothing has come of it. TikTok is now the most visited website in the United States and the U.S Army even uses TikTok celebrities for recruitment campaigns.
President Biden signed a Congressional bill that created a new national holiday called Juneteenth.
On June 25th, 2021, Biden signed Executive Order 14035 Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility in the Federal Workforce. This order sets forth equity in the hiring process for Federal employees, it also tells the government to support LGBTQ+ preferences such as: gender association, public showing of sexual orientation, and pronoun classes. Also, programs will be created within the Department of Defense to include gender equity and LGBTQ+ in their operations.

President Biden issued Executive Order 14040 which declassified certain documents related to the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Biden increased Historically Black Colleges and Universities funding.
Speculation that President Biden would use VA funding for illegal immigrants or other government spending began to surface. Some reports of the VA cutting service members benefits by using unfair tactics to not report an individual's injury or severity of health complication have surfaced. However, nothing on this has been proven. There is a report that has not been proven that alleges President Biden said to Senator Bernie Sanders that ‘veterans don't deserve much of anything and that they choose a job and retire at age 30’ and asking "why should they get a handout?" Adding, "They have at least 40 years of work left in them. No one else gets to retire at 30 and ride the gravy train for the rest of their lives on the taxpayer’s dime. Well, besides us of course."
President Biden signed an Executive Order called White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Hispanics which revoked an Executive Order made by President Trump to pursue similar goals without the racial equity policy. This new order institutes racial equity within advancing Hispanic education and the economy.
On September 30th, Joe Biden signed a bill to avert a government shutdown. At this point in time, President Biden's Build Back Better bill stalled in Congress as Senator Joe Manchin refused to vote for the bill.
At a speech, President Biden expressed his interest to create an environmental job corps. The idea has been surfaced by Bill Nye when he visited the White House and is a part of the stalled Build Back Better legislation.
On October 11th, Biden signed an Executive Order titled White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Native Americans and Strengthening Tribal Colleges and Universities. The order essentially copies two previous orders but tailors to the Native American community.
During President Biden's campaign, he promised to give free college tuition to Americans. However, this promise quickly faded as he removed the free college provisions from his agenda with regards to Build Back Better.
Executive Order 14050, White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Black Americans revoked President Obama's similar initiative but instead replaces them with racial equity policies. The order says that the United States has systemic issues which cause blacks to have less of a chance to succeed. The order also created a policy where the Department of Education must pursue racial equity for black Americans.
President Biden signed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill on November 15th, activating $1.2T of Congressional spending to upgrade infrastructure, fund new welfare policies, and to invest in water system upgrades and expansions to internet services.
During Biden's first year in office, crime surged in big cities across the United States. The Biden Administration was not responsible for the crime wave but could have demanded that the Democratic leaders of the affected cities do something about the crime as their own policies have led to the releasing of criminals who recommit crimes. One such individual drove into a Wisconsin Christmas parade and killed five individuals. The criminal had been charged with crimes before, but kept getting released and is just one example of many individuals who keep getting released and go unprosecuted that finally end up doing a homicide, or something that ends up killing people.
Biden signed the Secure Equipment Act on November 11th. The new law will combat Chinese technologies that are unsafe for use. It also allows the Federal Communications Commission to investigate electronic equipment insecurities.
Biden signed an Executive Order that creates new government services and simplifies complex filing. The order demands less bureaucracy from Federal services and to make documents more accessible with less waiting time. The order will encourage the government to modernize its technology and make use of internet capabilities to bring government services online. This includes a new online passport renewal service and services to pay bills and taxes. The order includes a new service under the WIC program for online purchases, expansions to workers comp and expands Medicare features on HHS resources. There will also be a student repayment portal called StudentAid.gov which will be created, and even a new digital platform for the VA. The order establishes a mission to reduce airport wait times through security changes, and will improve data sharing between Federal and State governments. Finally, the order updates USA.gov under a "Federal Front Door" plan.
With regards to employment lapses when changing Federal contractors on a contract, Biden signed an order which allows employees to transition to a new Federal contractor or at least work until the new employment force can replace the outgoing one. This order essentially prevents workforce displacement in Federal contracting when changing between companies.
7. Climate Change and Natural Disasters
President Biden has made climate change a central focus of his Presidency. Biden joined the Paris Climate Accords on his first day in office. Since then, Biden has signed many Executive Orders which will mandate the Federal government to make changes to its application and uses of resources and enforce regulations in order to set an example to combat the ‘climate crisis.’
Biden's Executive Order called Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad set his Administration's policy for combatting the climate crisis, and defining the issue thereof. Executive Order 14027 created the Climate Change Support Office within the Department of State. Another order called Climate-Related Financial Risk set the Federal government to a goal of having net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, and gave Economic Advisors the task of creating an economic strategy for enforcing climate change policies and mitigating the financial risks to Federal programs and services. The order also ensures that the government will work to limit average temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius and adapting to impacts of climate change. Biden authorized the Federal government to invest in public and private entities who work to fulfill the new goals set forth by the President. Finally, the order prepares the Federal government for any potential financial risk these policies may impose once enforced.
Hurricane Enri made landfall on August 22nd, 2021. A second hurricane, Ida, made landfall as a category 4 storm on August 29th, 2021.
President Biden signed an Executive Order aimed at empowering the electric car industry to begin ramping up production of technologies to produce economical electric cars. Biden has made it a focus of his Administration to encourage the automobile industry to switch to electric car manufacturing. Biden has been seen at GM factories and has even driven new electric cars which have been released for sale. The electric car industry has made significant progress in the past two years. Multiple electric cars are now available in the world market. However, the cars are not readily accessible to middle-class markets, and still cost too much to own.
President Biden signed an Executive Order that aims to provide 40% of benefits from Federal investments to a Justice 40 initiative which will provide investments to climate change and clean energy projects. He also initiated a proclamation to pursue climate infrastructure.
On December 8th, Biden signed an Executive Order setting goals for the Federal government to fight climate change. Some of the goals in the order are: a carbon-free car fleet for the Federal government by the end of 2027, a zero-emission fleet strategy for optimization of carbon-free vehicles, and a reduction in waste at government facilities. The order also establishes the Office of the Federal Chief Sustainability Officer.
On December 13th, tornadoes devastated communities across 8 different states in a path that stretched 200 miles. President Biden said that the tornadoes were the effect of "global warming." However, the phrase "global warming" has not been used since then-Vice President Al Gore as the term was retired by the 2000's when evidence disproved the global warming hypothesis. In response, the Democrat party quickly shifted to "climate change" where they could win the conversation both ways in that the climate got colder, or warmer. While visiting a community that was impacted in Kentucky, Biden said that the government would provide relief to the communities affected.
8. Foreign Policy
President Biden’s first year in office is not one cited as a success when it comes to foreign policy. Experts of military and foreign policy largely agree that Biden’s Presidency has harmed the United States on the world stage. He has indeed projected weakness to our allies and adversaries through several avoidable but crucial failures that will certainly impact foreign policy around the world for decades to come. There are still successes to Biden’s foreign policy, but those successes do not measure to amount to an overall achievement in making the United States more powerful in the eyes of our allies and adversaries.
The first ever foreign head-of-state to meet with President Biden at the White House was the then-Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga.
On February 11th, 2021, President Biden had a phone call with Xi Jinping.
During the Burma coup, Biden issued several orders that sanctioned those responsible for a takeover of government in the country of Burma. He blocked property, froze bank accounts, and used his sanction powers effectively to punish those who were responsible for the coup.
Biden talked with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeu on February 23rd, 2021.
In March, Biden sanctioned various U.S assets owned by Vladimir Putin's allies. Biden has also issued sanctions on Russian properties and energy exporters. The President’s stance on Russia has been largely negative for Vladimir Putin, but there are some questionable actions that the Administration has taken. During Trump's Presidency, he issued sanctions on Russia's NordStream 2 Pipeline. In May of 2021, the Biden Administration rescinded these sanctions. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that it would be a "long-shot" to sanction the pipeline. However, the sanctions were already in place. Undoing this sanction contradicted the stance the United States had taken several years ago on blocking Russia's access to Germany through NordStream 2. Now, Germany and Russia are open to doing direct business when it comes to sourcing their fuel. This decision undermined U.S foreign policy to try to control Russia's influence over the oil industry in Europe. It also led to a divide between Germany and other NATO allies, in that Germany blocked the United Kingdom’s access to German airspace when they tried to move critical military equipment to Ukraine to allow the nation to defend itself against a Russian invasion.
In May, tensions rose between the nations of Israel and Hamas. Rocket missiles were being sent by the two sides. Israel’s Iron Dome Defense System destroyed much of the Hamas’ rockets but some landed in Israel, killing several citizens. Palestine suffered much damage in the areas Israel hit back. On May 20th, Israel and Hamas reached a cease-fire.
On May 21st, South Korean President Moon Jae-In met with President Biden at the White House where they held a Press Conference together. In the conference, Biden announced he would be giving South Korean military service members who serve alongside U.S troops, 550,000 coronavirus vaccines. Biden named a Special Envoy to North Korea and the Administration set forth a goal to de-nuclearize the Korean peninsula, setting the goal as a top foreign policy priority. However, relations between North Korea and South Korea have taken damage under Biden's Administration. North Korea has resumed its nuclear missile test launches and refuses to meet with U.S officials for discussions and diplomatic talks.
President Biden signed an order that revised a Trump Executive Order aimed at addressing threats from securities investments related to the People's Republic of China.
Biden revised an order that issued sanctions on properties and suspended entry into the United States of individuals responsible to contributing to a destabilization of the Western Balkans.
President Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin met together in Geneva, Switzerland on June 16th, 2021.
On June 28th, Biden ordered airstrikes against facilities used by Iran-backed militia groups in Iraq and Syria. Two facilities in Syria were destroyed and one facility in Iraq. The next day, President Biden said that he would not let the Iranian government obtain a nuclear weapon. Iran is an Islamic extremist nation that supports terrorism. Iran has been working for years to try to create nuclear weapons. President Obama tried to address the situation in 2015 when he signed the JCPOA which created oversight over Iran nuclear facilities. However, Iran was not fully co-operative under the agreement and all the JCPOA did was give back all the resources the U.S had sanctioned with regards to Iran, without any conditions. Iran therefore gave misleading information and used the money that they reobtained to support terrorism and work on their nuclear program. Obama's policy was a failure so President Trump ended it and reinstated sanctions on Iran. Trump took a more militaristic approach to Iran but could not stop them from working on their nuclear weapons. Trump ordered the killing of Qasem Soleimani who was responsible for many military functions in Iran and terrorist attacks. The Biden Administration has expressed interest in adjusting the JCPOA and reinstating the agreement. Iran and the U.S are in diplomatic talks to find a solution to Iran’s nuclear engagement. Iran continues to get closer and closer to creating a functioning nuclear weapon. There is a significant danger a nuclear weapon-wielding Iran would pose on the United States. Remember, Iran does financially support terrorism and has engaged in terror itself. If they cannot be responsible to even their own citizens, how can they be trusted with a nuclear weapon? On October 12th, Biden rescinded several sanctions on Iran.
A hack of 200 U.S companies' data systems occurred in July. Biden said he was looking into whether Russia had anything to do with the hacks. The situation has since been resolved but shows the potential national security risk cyberwarfare could impose on the United States.
Joe Biden issued sanctions against individuals contributing to a situation in Belarus. He also extended a national emergency with regards to Belarus.
President Biden met with the newly elected Prime Minister of Israel Naftali Bennet at the White House. However, this meeting was cancelled until the next day because of a terrorist attack on the Kabul airport used to evacuate Afghanistan and American evacuees. Biden met with Naftali Bennet the next day.
In September, Biden signed an Executive Order recognizing a human rights crisis in Ethiopia and issued sanctions on individuals responsible for the issue.
Joe Biden addressed the United Nations in September.
Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson visited with President Biden on September 21st, 2021.
On October 2nd, tensions between China and Taiwan had reached a height when China sent 77 warplanes into Taiwan's Defense Identification Zone. Over the rest of 2021 and into 2022, China continues to deploy warplanes into Taiwanese airspace and conduct military operations across Taiwanese waters. Several Chinese warships and even two nuclear submarines are currently present along Taiwanese waters. China actively threatens Taiwan with "re-unification." China wants Taiwan to surrender itself or face a military invasion. President Biden has had months of time to send U.S troops into Taiwan to prevent China from invading the country, however, he has not sent them nor any U.S warships into Taiwanese waters. Instead, he let China build a perimeter around Taiwan which would make it hard to send ships and troops to the country if the President suddenly decided to do so.
President Biden participated in a CNN Town Hall with Anderson Cooper on October 21st. At this event, he said that he would be open to defending Taiwan militarily. On November 16th, a day after President Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a virtual summit, Biden said that Taiwan would have to defend itself, contradicting his previous comments at a CNN Town Hall. He also said that Taiwan would have to decide for itself whether it wants to fight for independence from China or not, and that he does not want the U.S to incur into international waters with regards to getting involved in a Chinese invasion of Taiwan. The President also spoke about a "One-China" policy. However, there is no policy between Taiwan and the United States mentioning a "One-China." Actually, the idea of a "One China" comes from Chinese propaganda and is a slogan of the Communist Chinese Party. It took one meeting with Xi Jinping for Biden to completely change his stance on Taiwan and for him to also follow along with Chinese propaganda. The next day, the White House said that the Administration was not encouraging Taiwanese independence from China. Taiwan is already independent of China and has been for decades. Suddenly, everything changes once Biden comes in office and now, China is saying that Taiwan is actually their land.
The Trump Administration’s attempts to issue tariffs on Chinese goods have not continued under Biden. Instead, Joe Biden has purchased Chinese surveillance drone for government use and has not addressed key issues regarding Chinese abuses of the U.S economy.
On October 18th, it was confirmed that China had successfully tested hypersonic missiles with nuclear capability a few months earlier. These missiles were not detected on any surveillance system in the United States. This new technology allows China to send a nuclear missile anywhere in the world at much faster speeds than modern nuclear missiles with a small deviation from targets. These missiles are undetectable on modern surveilancing and threat detection systems. This technology poses a severe risk to America's national security. U.S military officials have said that they were taken off guard by the successful tests. The Chinese government says that these missiles were actually "spacecraft."
A missionary group in Haiti was kidnapped by a gang. They were being held by a group called the 400 Mowozo. The group demanded millions of dollars of ransom money. In the end, the missionary group escaped.
On November 13th, Iran-backed Houthi rebels took control of a U.S Embassy in Sana'a, Yemen. The situation was resolved shortly after the incident.
Biden terminated an emergency declaration with regards to a situation in Burundi and revoked sanctions put in place by former President Barrack Hussein Obama. He also suspended the blocking of immigrants from Burundi.
On November 16th, Russia reportedly sent 100,000 military units to the border of Ukraine and began training operations along the Ukrainian border. It was confirmed by December and became a foreign policy crisis by January of 2022. Amid the crisis in Ukraine, President Biden called Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 7th. Biden told Putin that the military would respond to secure other countries threatened by Russia. Biden called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky two days later. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan gave a press conference on the Biden-Putin call. Sullivan said that he does not think Putin will invade Ukraine and that if they do, the Biden Administration will not repeat the same strategy that President Obama employed during the Russian annexation of Crimea in 2014. He also said that sanctions would be set on Russia if they invade Ukraine.
On December 8th, Biden said that Russia would face severe consequences if they invaded Ukraine. Biden was asked about sending troops to Ukraine, and he responded saying that it was "not on the table." Of course, U.S intel knew about the possibility for invasion months before the news came out. Biden could have sent troops before Russia amassed 100,000 units along Ukraine's border which would have stopped Russia from continuing its efforts to invade. However, Biden said that if NATO sent troops into Ukraine that the U.S would follow their footsteps. Biden then cited Article 5 of the NATO treaty which he says does not extend to Ukraine. Biden has based the possibility of defending Ukraine on NATO rules. Because Ukraine is not a member of NATO, Biden uses Article 5 of the NATO treaty as an excuse to not defend Ukraine. He says that the United States "does not have an obligation" to defend Ukraine. Ukraine is an ally of the United States and needs our help to survive a Russian invasion or to deter it. Biden could have sent troops to Ukraine two months ago to deter the Russians from building up offense at Ukraine’s borders. Rather, he decided to not send troops and instead is committed to defending NATO allies only. These excuses have projected weakness in the eyes of the Russian government. Thus, his lack of defense of Ukraine has only encouraged the Russians to invade. On December 30th, Biden and Putin held another phone call to address rising tensions in Ukraine. From this time on, not much has come of diplomatic talks with Russia.
On December 9th, President Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken held the first of several events of the Summit for Democracy. The summit went on for several days and was attended by various heads-of-states and officials from various countries. The event had little substance and was really just an opportunity for leaders from different countries to give long, scripted speeches. Very little actual discussion was held and the media panned the summit for being ineffective and of little substance.
9. Afghanistan Withdrawal
On April 14th, Biden announced that the United States would leave Afghanistan by September 11th, 2021. Immediately, experts from both sides of the political spectrum warned that the pullout from Afghanistan would lead to increased terrorism and a resurgence of the terrorist group Okaida. Biden promised the American people that he would keep the Taliban from further threatening the United States military.
Early August, President Biden made a phone call with Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani telling him how he perceived that the world might see what's going on in Afghanistan between the Taliban and the government, and told him to get a hold of the situation. However, this call was before the Taliban even took Kabul. After the government of Afghanistan collapsed, the President said that there was "no indication" that the Afghanistan government would fall in just 11 days. This call meant that he knew that the Taliban was making considerable advances on the Afghanistan government, yet he did nothing to prepare the U.S for a proper evacuation of U.S allies and Americans.
On August 13th, the Taliban began making more progress in taking over Afghanistan. Biden sent 3,000 U.S troops to aid in evacuations. At this point in time, Biden left Bagram Air Force Base and the equipment therein. The U.S military used the Kabul airport instead of Bagram for its evacuation.
On August 15th, the President of Afghanistan evacuated, the Taliban took control of Kabul, and Taliban forces entered into the President's office. In a matter of hours, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan collapsed, and the Taliban began to take control of government offices. At this point, the top priority of former government employees and officials was to evacuate to Kabul airport and be taken by the United States government to be sent somewhere safe. Around this time, Biden was taking a vacation at Camp David, away from the White House. During the initial collapse of the Afghanistan government, Biden released a statement saying that he was monitoring the situation. Biden received immediate criticism from all sides while he was at Camp David, and eventually, he returned to the White House to begin damage control. By August 16th, chaos erupts as Kabul airport as is overwhelmed with evacuees. The airport was briefly closed on the 16th and people were removed from the field. In the chaos, seven people died. During this time, the infamous event where an Air Force jet prepared takeoff even while people were on the runway took place. Videos were recorded of the event, and the footage was widely shown on media around the world to the complete embarrassment of the United States military. Another video showed people hanging on the wings of the jet where they eventually fell to their deaths. President Biden addressed the chaos and said that he stands by his decision saying that he had no choice but to leave Afghanistan because of a previous agreement made between the Trump Administration and the Taliban. However, this is false. The agreement was enforced under Trump as a conditions-based agreement where the Taliban would not continue its insurrection in Afghanistan, but as soon as Biden took office, the Taliban began to violate the terms of agreement and the Administration did nothing to stop them, nor did they publicly warn them to stop. Then, Biden used a defense saying that Afghanistan was inevitable to fall to the Taliban. Biden then says that he did not want to pass the Afghanistan war onto another President. He then left taking no questions from the media. U.S Embassies were evacuated in Afghanistan and the Chinese government publicly praised the new Taliban controlled Afghanistan government. Later, the same day, the airport was re-opened and evacuations continued.
The Biden Administration left the military equipment that the U.S had provided to the Afghanistan government over the past 20 years. These aircraft and military equipment were left behind for the Taliban to take over. Jake Sullivan said that the Administration hopes that the Taliban will use the military equipment for defensive purposes. Of course, when you think about it, in reality, the Biden Administration is hoping that the Taliban, a terrorist group, uses sophisticated military technology that could invade a small country, for defensive purposes. Even while the disastrous Afghanistan pullout was still in play, Biden thought of sending Afghanistan $3.3 billion for military and humanitarian spending.
On the 19th of August, John Kirby the public affairs official for the Department of Defense confirmed that the government did not know how many Americans were stranded in Afghanistan. At this point, the number of deaths at the Kabul airport from accidents set to 12. The next day, President Biden delivered a press conference on Afghanistan after reports of executions being carried out by the Taliban came out. In this speech, Biden said that Afghanistan was not a national interest and that ISIS posed a greater threat to America than a Taliban controlled Afghanistan. But this is contrary to the truth as 9/11 occurred because the then Taliban-controlled government from 1997-2001 allowed for Okaida to carry out the September 11 terrorist attacks. Also, ISIS has been destroyed structurally by President Donald Trump after he took down the remaining leaders and resources of the terrorist group, effectively turning them into a media shell of its former self. In a surprising turn of events, President Biden called for a G7 virtual summit a week from this speech. Of course, the solution to the problem was to pursue a better plan on Afghanistan, so calling world leaders to do a summit over something the U.S itself caused, was not effective and was only an embarrassing waste of important time needed to focus on evacuating individuals, and eliminating government bureaucracy on processing immigration. Biden then promised to not let the Taliban make Afghanistan into a terrorist state. Biden addressed the military’s perimeter strategy at Kabul airport, he asserted that the military could not expand its perimeter around the airport, making the excuse that it would have "unintended consequences." But, the military is more than capable of securing a perimeter as it is a common military practice, however, Biden decided against it. This later came to embarrass the Biden Administration as the Taliban secured a perimeter around the airport, leaving the U.S forces and evacuees exceptionally vulnerable to a possible terrorist attack. The President then promised the American people that he would work to get everyone out of Afghanistan. At this point, the official number of those evacuated stood at 18,000 people. Soon, however, the Taliban would become hostile and block evacuees from accessing the Kabul airport.
In an effort to expedite evacuations, the Pentagon used Qatar as a temporary stop for many Afghanistan evacuees.
The Pentagon said that there was "no demand for U.S rescue outside of Kabul airport." This turned out to be false as Representatives and Senators in Congress had to use their own resources to get their contacts and stranded Americans out.
On August 21st, 2021, the U.S Embassy in Afghanistan warned people to not come to the Kabul airport. At this time, the official figure of 18,000 evacuations only included 2,500 Americans. The State Department's plan to evacuate individuals began to get messy when they gave confusing directions on how to evacuate. All gates at Kabul airport closed due to a backup at Qatar airports.
By August 23rd, the number of people evacuated was at 40,000 people. .
By August 24th, the number of people evacuated from Kabul, Afghanistan was 75,900. At this time, leaked internal memos from the Department of the Air Force showed that U.S bases were looking for individuals who could translate Pashto to English. This indicated that Afghanistan refugees would held at U.S bases.
On August 26th, 2021, a terrorist attack at the Kabul airport left 13 U.S service members dead and killed over 200 citizens. The attack occurred at a gateway into the Kabul airport. A suicide bomb went off in a heavily populated area where crowds were trying to enter into the airport facility. Biden received a briefing on the attack, and the Administration's response went silent as a State Department briefing was cancelled. At this, the Administration went into complete damage control mode as the terrorist attack left an embarrassing scar on the President’s evacuation plan. The Pentagon eventually gave a briefing on the terrorist attack after delays. The Pentagon immediately shifted the narrative and said that a group named ISIS-K was responsible for the attack. The Pentagon at the time confirmed 12 deaths of U.S service members and said they were investigating the circumstances of the attack. It was later revealed in the briefing that 104,000 people were evacuated from Afghanistan. The Pentagon then said that no new service members of the military would be sent to Afghanistan and they also confirmed that they were sharing information with the Taliban to prevent possible attacks. Then, the Pentagon said that they felt that the attack would have happened "sooner or later." At the end of the briefing, John Kirby quickly left the room without taking any questions. Later, the Pentagon confirmed that 15 service members of the U.S military were injured in the bombing. Leaks came out this same day that the Department of State were sending the Taliban information of green card recipients, Americans to be evacuated, and Afghanistan refugees who aided and supported U.S efforts in Afghanistan. This information reportedly included names of individuals as well. This same day, Biden delivered an update after the Kabul terrorist attack. He said that the government will hunt the terrorists who carried out the attack, promising airstrikes to come after ISIS-K. He also gave misleading information saying that his military advisors told him that Bagram Air Force Base was "useless." Jen Psaki held a press briefing shortly after Biden's speech.
On August 27th, the Pentagon held a briefing. General William D. Taylor spoke at this briefing and said that he did not think that the U.S was sharing information with the Taliban as news reports were saying. It was confirmed that 5,000 U.S troops remained as the operation was coming to a close. Jen Psaki held another press briefing revealing that Afghanistan refugees would be receiving coronavirus vaccinations. It was also confirmed that some Afghanistan refugees would be relocated to the United States.
On August 29th, the bodies of the slain service members from the Kabul terrorist attack arrived in the U.S. President Biden, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin attended the honorary event for the slain service members. That same day, the U.S announced that a drone strike was taken on an ISIS-K truck containing explosives. Biden also met with the family members of the 13 slain service members where he received negative comments from the family members.
On August 30th, the final transport left Afghanistan and the evacuation mission came to an end. In a confusing move, the Administration decided to leave the service dogs behind in Afghanistan. Other military equipment used for the evacuation was also left behind.
August 31st, 2021. The mission in Afghanistan came to a close. President Biden addressed the nation and confirmed that the mission had ended. The President celebrated the 120,000 people evacuated calling it the greatest airlift in history. Biden then immediately shifted to his defensive mode. Biden said that the Afghanistan military failed to stop the Taliban. But when the President announced the United States would leave Afghanistan, their military lost the morale to fight. Biden then said that his Administration urged Americans to leave Afghanistan, saying that 100-200 Americans remained. He then said that 90% of Americans who were able to leave have left. The President promised to get the remaining Americans out of Afghanistan. Biden then blamed President Trump for the deal with the Taliban, and confirmed that 5,500 Americans were evacuated from Afghanistan. He took responsibility for his actions which led up to the Afghanistan chaos. Lastly, Biden said that the United States was not done with ISIS-K yet after speaking about airstrikes on ISIS-K. Jen Psaki held a press briefing after the President's speech. She was questioned about a man who helped then-Senator Biden in an accident that occurred in Afghanistan and why he had not been evacuated yet. Jen Psaki then thanked that man who helped Biden. It took until October 12th to evacuate the man and his family from Afghanistan in which he expressed thanks to the Administration for saving his life.
The airstrike that the government said was taken out against an "ISIS-K" vehicle filled with explosives was actually a vehicle with three adults and seven children that had nothing to do with terrorism. The military received faulty intel, which they jumped the gun on. All the individuals in the vehicle died.
On September 28th, the first of a few Senate Armed Services committee hearings took place. Joint Chiefs Mark Milley, General McKenzie, and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin were all asked about their involvement in the Afghanistan withdrawal.
During the hearings, Lloyd Austin gave wordy answers that didn't get to the point. Republicans had to break down his answers in order to get him to give them actual information. However, Mark Milley and General McKenzie gave clear answers to the questions they were given. The answers they gave confirmed that President Biden lied about Okaida not being present in Afghanistan. Their answers also showed that there was an effort made by military advisors to convince the President to keep Bagram Air Force Base. Bagram is a secure Air Force base and has a much larger and more secure air field than the airport used in the Afghanistan evacuation. In the end, Biden left Bagram Air Force Base against the sound advice of military advisors. McKenzie said that there was no pressure to pursue an airstrike which killed 10 people, including 7 children and took responsibility for the failure. He also contradicted the President in saying that the U.S withdrawal from Afghanistan weakened morale in the Afghan military. Biden said that the military failed to defend itself and that corruption weakened them, but in reality, the United States failed on its commitments. Lloyd Austin confirmed that there was no plan to re-enter Afghanistan if there was a need to. It was also assessed that Donald Trump's plan for withdrawal was conditions based, whereas Biden's was set to a specific date. Austin also confirmed that the Biden Administration was the one that set the initial withdrawal date to September 11th (later bringing it down to August 31st). Milley said that it is harder now for the military to stop terrorism and says that it's "too early to tell" when responding to if the United States is at greater risk for terrorist attacks. McKenzie said that Okaida maintains a position in Afghanistan and that the terrorist threat has "metastasized." Milley then said that the Afghanistan withdrawal has led to a "significant" decrease in intelligence capabilities in Afghanistan. He also said that staying past August 31st (by the time the Taliban would start setting up its government) would pose a risk to U.S service members. Lloyd Austin was asked about potential security risks to the United States if the Taliban or some other country reverse-engineers U.S equipment left in Afghanistan to use against the United States, the Secretary said that the military would assess any vulnerabilities and make proper changes. Finally, McKenzie said that he wished the evacuations began sooner and that the State Department had done a better job on evacuation notifications.
Since the exit from Afghanistan, the Taliban has formed the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and has taken away women's rights to education, freedom of speech, expression, forced women to wear robes, and has degraded their legal recourse. Also, women can no longer go to places by themselves unless accompanied by a man. The Taliban have destroyed the legal system which brings a risk of presumptuously declaring someone guilty without them being proven guilty, thus, beheadings and executions will be done on innocent people. The new government is actively searching for former government officials to make an example of. Freedom of speech has been destroyed as any push back against the new government will lead to possible execution. Finally, the Taliban has banned music.
Terrorism in Afghanistan has increased since the U.S left Afghanistan. For example, a suicide bombing killed 20, another attack killed 30 people.
On October 9th, the United States decided to legitimize the new Taliban government by having diplomatic talks with their officials.
The Biden Administration promised to get everyone that needed to be evacuated removed from Afghanistan. However, mixed messaging and an internal issue of not knowing how many Americans were left in Afghanistan led the Pentagon to scramble to explain how many were left. Originally, the President said that 90% of Americans were evacuated and that about 150 people remained. However, the Pentagon changed that evaluation when on October 18th, 350 Americans were evacuated.
U.S officials said repeatedly that the Taliban would not be capable of operating the aircraft left behind when Biden ordered a withdrawal from Afghanistan. However, on November 15th, the Taliban held a military parade where they were operating U.S aircraft and doing tricks with them.
It is clear that the Biden Administration completely failed on their exit strategy from Afghanistan. This event in history will leave a dent on American foreign policy for decades to come. The amount of damage this does to the United States stance on the world stage is priceless. Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping have seen through what pressure and crisis does to the Biden Administration. The complete failure to defend our ally Afghanistan, an ally whom even Biden said it was a national interest to defend while he was Senator, suddenly contradicted whilst being President. Our allies see this and now know the United States may not actually come to their defense. We are at a worse position now because of this botched exit from Afghanistan. Afghanistan, once a promising country, brought out of the extremist jihad, will soon be brainwashed into joining terrorist groups and eventually, the United States will be open to attack once more as Afghanistan becomes a terrorist haven. Biden has compromised our national security and our defense systems as the Taliban has proprietary military technology that they could send to the Chinese for them to study and reverse-engineer. This exit emboldens China and Russia to invade Taiwan and Ukraine. It seems that the Administration has not learned its lesson yet about protecting our allies. Biden is doing the same thing again with Ukraine and soon, Taiwan.
10. Economy
The Biden Administration started after the height of the coronavirus pandemic. Biden's main goal was to ensure the American economy would recover. However, much of Biden's policies and the Congressional appropriations he has signed have done the opposite of that.
In May, the economy added 559,000 jobs and held an unemployment rate of 5.8%. At this point in time, the inflation rate was at 5.4%.
The economy added 850,000 jobs in June but the unemployment rate rose to 5.9%.
President Biden signed Executive Order 14036 which acknowledged issues in tech, health care, and labor markets. The order also recognized that markets were consolidated by corporations, and recognized that non-compete agreements were wrong and harmful to workers. The order also established the White House Competition Council. Finally, the order created an initiative to limit non-compete agreements.
In July of 2021, 943,000 jobs were added and the unemployment rate fell to 5.4%.
In August, 235,000 jobs were added and the unemployment rate lowered to 5.2%. However, inflation and gas prices rose significantly.
For the financial portion of the United States, September and October were critical months for the country's financial state. Excessive government spending throughout the coronavirus pandemic led the Federal government to almost default on its debt. Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen warned Congress that the Federal government and the Treasury would default if Congress did not raise the debt ceiling. In the United States, the Federal government can only produce up to a certain amount of debt designated in the debt ceiling. When a default occurs, many services of the government including: welfare payments, military service member salaries, and many other services would cease as no money can be expended. The issue took Congress's attention by early October. Biden blamed the situation on Donald Trump and Republicans. During this time, Republicans in the Senate blocked the debt ceiling legislation, saying that Democrats had to own up to the increases. This meant that Democrats had to pass a debt ceiling raise with their 51 vote majority. If only one Senator voted against the bill, the debt ceiling would have gone unchanged, thus, the nation’s debt would cancel on itself. The issue, however, did not end there. The Democrats were able to get some Republican votes, yet, the next vote, in six weeks-time, garnered no Republican votes. In the end, Democrats in Congress raised the debt ceiling by $2T dollars.
In September, 194,000 jobs were added and unemployment fell to 4.8%. However, inflation rose to 5.9%.
In October, a supply chain blockage occurred which left hundreds of cargo ships at port and led to widespread shortages of essential items. President Biden's response to the crisis was slow. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg who is responsible for enforcing transportation policies was out on a 3-month leave. Thus, no one was running the Department of Transportation to make decisions to handle the supply chain issue. Biden said that a solution to the problem would be to have a 24/7 shipping and unloading cycle. However, the shortage was largely caused by labor shortages. Buttigieg said that the supply chain shortage would linger into 2022. Also, 531,000 jobs were added in this month and the unemployment rate fell to 4.6%.
The economy in November was in bad shape. Inflation led to rising prices of foods and necessities as well as widespread supply shortages across the United States. Gas prices soared and food distribution costs brought fruits and vegetable prices up, even leading to a frozen-foods shortage. Biden took action to solve the problem. However, he actually contradicted it. Biden ordered the Federal government to investigate whether or not corruption and illegal conduct had anything to do with the rising prices of gas. Rather, Biden's policies on energy and stopping production of oil on Federally-leased lands have caused the gas prices to soar, taking the rest of the economy down with it. With the FED preparing to raise interest rates, the spending of $3,100,000,000,000 and the fast rising of inflation and gas prices; the economy was left in unfavorable conditions. Thus, the DOW Jones Industrial Average began to slide. On November, 26th, the DOW Jones went down 1,000 points in one day. Inflation rose to 6.8% in November and the supply chain block up began to intensify.
President Biden tried to alleviate the rising gas prices by ordering the release of national reserve oil. However, much of this oil was sold to China and India for cheaper prices than other oil barrels and the oil released into U.S markets made a very small change to nationwide gas prices (only $-0.02).
The final jobs report for 2021 showed that the economy created 199,000 jobs and the unemployment rate set to 3.9%.
Biden has said that he has created the most jobs in any modern Presidency. Although true that 6 million jobs were created under Biden’s first year as President, the economy still has less than the amount of jobs and low unemployment under his predecessor President Trump. Also, wages are increasing, but, they are being levelled out by rapidly rising inflation. Biden has simply recovered the jobs lost during COVID, but statistically the economy is still in worse shape than during Trump’s Presidency.
The economy is certainly not a strong point for President Biden. Excessive spending from Trump’s last year in office ($6T) and Biden’s first year in office ($3.1T) have led to the poor economic conditions we are facing. Interest rates are soon to rise, and the Stock Market will begin to react. Biden’s policies on the energy sector are responsible for the increasing inflation and gas prices. The cost-of-living is up, and the costs to produce items are also rising. Biden has not tried to address inflation as much as he could have in his first year. On the bright side, unemployment is surprisingly low for such poor economic conditions and may be a contributing factor in the future for preventing an economic recession.
11. Legislative Responsibilities
From expanding the social safety net to Federalizing elections to mandate mail-in-balloting, President Biden is definitely no stranger to his legislative responsibilities. Serving over 3 decades as a United States Senator, Joe Biden brings his legislative experience to the White House.
Early in Biden's Presidency, Congress passed the $1.9T COVID-19 Stimulus Package, Juneteenth legislation, and the Anti-Asian Hate Crime Bill.
Biden and Congress have spent around $3,100,000,000,000 alone in 2021. Biden's Build Back Better and Freedom to Vote Act have both been stalled. Senator Joe Manchin will not vote for Build Back Better, a $2.5T social safety net "human" infrastructure package. This is due to the excessive Child Tax Credit provision and the rising inflation rate caused by the over $9.1T of spending from the past 2 years. The Freedom to Vote Act cannot pass the Senate unless Congress removes the Senate filibuster rule. For years, especially during President Trump's term, Democrats used the filibuster and have even protected it from revision in the past. Now that there is a 50-50(1) majority in the Senate, Democrats cannot pass certain legislation unless the filibuster is removed. Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer has said in the past that removing the filibuster would be a "doomsday scenario for democracy." But now that the Democrats can't get Biden's agenda passed: Charles is advocating for a removal of the filibuster.
Shortly before President Biden addressed his party on removing the filibuster, Senator Kyrsten Sinema announced that she would not be voting for the removal of the filibuster rule. Thus, Biden's agenda on voting rights is in jeopardy with no way of passing. With his main legislation stalled and the possibility of the Democrats losing in a decisive defeat against Republican and independent candidates in the midterms, Biden and Congress are bracing for the worst.
The Freedom to Vote Act is trying to federalize elections. The act is unconstitutional unless a Constitutional Amendment is made to remove the parts describing the state's right to handle elections and to enforce procedure. The Freedom to Vote Act would also institute mail-in-balloting that is unchecked and makes it possible for election fraud and multi-voting to occur. The act also removes Voter ID's a critical procedure used to verify ballots and to find fraudulent or mistaken ballots. Biden calls our nation's election laws "Jim Crow." But his home state of Delaware has even more restrictive laws than the rest of the nation. There will be absolutely no Republican support for the Freedom to Vote Act. Thus, it will not survive filibuster rules, and since the filibuster cannot be removed, the voting rights portion of Biden's agenda is at a full stop.
On November 6th, the House passed the final version of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill after passing in the Senate. The total cost of the legislation was $1.2T. Much of the spending of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill is not on actual infrastructure. The bill does however, have funding to replace lead pipes and upgrade internet infrastructure.
China has threatened Taiwan with a full invasion of the country. As it is, the U.S has important financial ties to Taiwan. With most business in the semi-conductor industry being done in China, the U.S has tried to use the Taiwanese markets as an alternative source for this technology. However, if China invades Taiwan, the U.S will be forced to do business with China. Congress has proposed a $250 billion dollar spending package, along with new policies to try to move the semi-conductor business out of Taiwan and into the United States.
In December, Congress passed a government funding bill that will stop a government shutdown until February 18th, 2022. The funding also provides $7 billion in relief funds for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. To stop a debt default, the Congress passed a $2.5T increase of the debt limit. This increase will last until 2023, when a debt default could occur. The increase received no Republican votes and was done along party lines.
12. Transparency
During the first year of Biden's Presidency, it was increasingly harder and harder for the media to ask questions to President Biden. From the start, the White House and Biden have avoided the media at all times. Almost every time Biden speaks at an event, the media has to yell questions at him to get the chance to see if he will answer. Biden has only done a few formal press conferences, his first taking a full 2 months and five days to take place. Biden has become increasingly hostile with reporters who ask him tough questions; he usually will question whether the reporter is actually qualified for asking questions. Another tactic Biden likes to use is when he is asked a question, he gives a vague, one word answer or simply says "We'll talk about that later" where he never follows-up. The latest tactic used by the White House began in September when Biden used the Eisenhower Executive Building set for a booster shot event. However, since then, Biden has increasingly used the set. The previous President has used the set a few times before, but since December, almost all of his events are located on the set. When using the set, the White House can easily control the media and move them out of the room before they begin to ask Biden any questions.
ABC confirmed that lobbying firms tied to Biden Administration officials soared in yearly revenues since the Administration began. The firms include those owned by former Biden aides, and a firm previously owned by the White House Counselor Steve Richetti which has increased its revenues from $635,000 to $2.4 million. Another firm owned by Richetti's brother has also seen an increase in profits.
13. Awkward Moments
President Biden has had many awkward moments throughout his Presidency. He has a stutter that makes his speeches laughable. From calling his Vice President the President, to yelling about random things angrily, Biden is no stranger to making mistakes during his speeches.
When President Biden spoke at a Coast Guard graduation speech, he used various jokes that did not get any laughs. Biden reused a joke from Ronald Reagan's speech to Coast Guard graduates but Biden did not get any laughs from it as Reagan did. In an awkward moment, he called the graduates a "dull class" and said they were salty.
Biden was asked about the reported U.F.O'S that were spotted during Obama's Administration and whether he knows anything about it. Biden responded saying "Well, why don't you ask him again."
During a speech Biden gave on the Afghanistan chaos, Vice President Kamala Harris, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken all stood behind the President but did not actually say anything. They simply stood there facing toward the media. At one part of the speech, Biden got lost with his numbers and Antony Blinken whispered to the President a figure where he then repeated what the Secretary said.
In a speech on Build Back Better, Biden left the room where the media had been yelling questions at him. One individual asked about Build Back Better, he received no response, but about 3 seconds later, Biden creeped part of his body back into the room to say “Get it to my desk” and then left immediately. Some of the media giggled after this weird reaction.
During one speech, Biden closed his statements saying that he thought it was time for some questions. However, the White House cut the feed immediately.
On August 26th, President Biden delivered an update on Afghanistan after a terrorist attack killed 13 U.S service members. After a moment of silence for the 13 killed, Biden stared at the camera for several seconds with his eyes and mouth wide open, and then he began to speak at a loss of words. He decided to take questions and when Peter Doocy asked him several tough questions, the President got irritated and took his booklet and slouched over his hands with the booklet covering his mouth. He then stared up and moved his body up slowly.
When Boris Johnson visited the White House and met with President Biden, Johnson was answering questions from the media. Out of nowhere, the White House team randomly interrupted him while he was still speaking. Johnson has a confused look while they moved the media out of the room, ending the meeting abruptly.
When speaking in Chicago on October 9th, President Biden stuttered and was at a loss of words, forgetting names of individuals and having a hard time pronouncing them. For nearly 10 minutes straight, his sentences were broken and he visibly had a hard time speaking.
On October 12th, NASA released a video with Kamala Harris speaking with children and showing them around an observatory. However, the entire video was fake. The children were child actors and were acting like they were engaged in what Vice President Harris was telling them. Harris gave the children advice, but of course, this was also fake and scripted. The video was ironically produced by Sinking Ship Entertainment. Fox News anchors made fun of the video implying the Biden Presidency with the name of the production company. The video became popular on YouTube and is now a meme.
President Biden has continually pushed Americans to wear their masks. But while he ate at a restaurant in Washington, D.C, he was seen walking around with his mask off, thus, violating the local mask mandate.
At the White House, President Biden entered a room without his mask on. He came to the podium and began speaking about how vaccinated Americans should wear their masks indoors when having company. Not too far from the podium, several of the media surrounded him. He walked out of the room without his mask on, even after saying people should wear a mask indoors when around others.
President Biden participated in a CNN Town Hall with Anderson Cooper. At the event, Biden had a major stutter and could not formulate clear sentences. At one point, Biden held his hands in an unnatural position for more than a few seconds. Screenshots were taken of the video and made into memes. Similarly, Biden participated in a CNN Town Hall with Don Lemon a few months prior, at this event; he also stuttered and could not make clear sentences.
Biden left the United States to participate in the G20 and COP26 summits. During the "family photo" at the G20, President Biden was found all the way in the back of the photo shoot. At the COP26 summit, Biden fell asleep during a speech encouraging heads-of-state to combat climate change. One of his staffers came over and acted like they had something to say to him to wake him up.
On November 2nd, several elections took place across the country. In Virginia, Glenn Youngkin defeated Biden-backed former Governor of Virginia Terry McAuliffe in a race for Governor of Virginia. Also, the races for Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney-General were won by Republicans. Thus, in one election night, a blue state was flipped red. However, New Jersey kept their Governor Phil Murphy. The Virginia flip from Democrat state to Republican was highly unlikely. It took the actual Democratic-leaning voters to switch to a Republican candidate to pull Glenn Youngkin to the governorship. This major upset is a cause for concern for Democratic pollers, as it may indicate Virginia will vote for a Republican candidate for President rather than Joe Biden. Virginia went red because people were upset with the platform Democrats in Virginia were running on. The biggest reason was critical race theory in schools, which parents in Virginia across the aisle rejected by electing Youngkin. Biden's Department of Education is pushing for critical race theory curriculum and racial equity. Biden's assertion that he is popular and that the American people like what he is doing is contradicted by what happened in Virginia. However, the Democrats have not changed their platform and still want to continue with critical race theory education and racial equity programs.
On November 10th, Vice President Kamala Devi Harris made a visit to France. She visited a laboratory and used a fake French accent, emphasizing how politicians should follow "the plan."
President Biden's pick for a Department of Treasury regulatory position on banks had ties to the Soviet Union and received education from there. During a Senate confirmation hearing, she was criticized when she would not denounce socialist ideologies. In the end, she was never confirmed for the position and Biden nominated somebody else.
During the signing ceremony for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, a woman was introduced by a narrator, but Vice President Kamala Harris took the stage instead and said “Not yet!”
President Biden had criticized Kyle Rittenhouse during the 2020 Presidential campaign. Rittenhouse was labeled a racist and a vigilante killer by the media. Rittenhouse had killed several individuals at a riot but the acts were proven as self-defense. Kyle Rittenhouse was found not guilty on all charges against him and the media quickly silenced themselves from talking about the Rittenhouse case.
Early in Biden's Presidency, a TikTok star visited for a skit with Press Secretary Jen Psaki. The video is cringy and is essentially a "get vaccinated" propaganda video.
Bill Nye visited the White House to do an informative video about Biden's Presidency. He said that "infrastructure is cool" and that the Build Back Better and Bipartisan Infrastructure Bills needed to pass. He spoke about Biden's Climate Corps which he says would provide "good union paying jobs" and solar upgrades to homes to adjust to climate change. Biden showed up in the video and joined in Bill Nye's message in promoting his legislative agenda. The video was made fun of on Fox News.
President Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken hosted the Summit for Democracy. Throughout the several day summit, Biden made speeches on a set and even brought Vice President Harris into the event. At the beginning of the summit, Antony Blinken said that they would do a "family photo." A female actor then did a futuristic voice with an English accent to alert the attendees of the summit to move their face toward the camera and smile. Of course, this was cut out abruptly by music and a message to let viewers know that they would be back. In an hour, the event continued. During the first day of the summit, Biden attended Bob Dole's lying-in-State. The summit continued without him, something that would continue for the next few days of the summit as Biden barely attended much of its functions. At one point in the summit, Taiwan had the spotlight. Their video feed was cut during the event when they showed a graphic showing Taiwan and China as separate countries, thus signaling that they were their own country, and not a "One China." The White House said that the cutting of the video feed was a technical error and that they value Taiwan's opinions. However, with the Biden Administration seemingly giving up on defending Taiwan, it's not surprising that many individuals felt that the cutting of the video feed was on purpose. With problematic technical issues, a nice soundtrack for waiting music, and an overly produced set for a ZOOM democracy summit, the Summit for Democracy was an embarrassing failure that only highlighted Biden's lack of concentration on the real issues affecting this country, and the world.
During a speech, Biden stuttered, making him accidentally say “I’ve adopted the attitude of the great ne*** at the time” when referring to Satchel Paige. Of course, Biden meant to refer to the name of the baseball team which Satchel Paige played in which had the ne*** word in it. Biden’s stutter made it sound like he was calling Satchel Paige the great ne*** at the time.
When President Biden visited Kentucky after a devastating tornado destroyed communities, he brought up during a briefing that he was a City Councilman before he was a U.S Senator.
Biden gave a commencement speech to graduates in South Carolina. In the speech he said that he knew about the Black National Anthem and then said that he learned it from when he went to black churches. Biden throughout the speech said he was a part of the civil rights movement. In a weird moment, Biden said that "the only difference between a white entrepreneur and a black entrepreneur is that a black entrepreneur usually doesn't have a lawyer." He also spoke about voting rights and how black neighborhoods are treated differently than white neighborhoods.
President Biden was trolled on live television when he took a call from a man who told him at the end of his message "Merry Christmas and Let's Go Brandon." Biden then responded with "I agree, Let's Go Brandon." The White House immediately cut the phone call and Biden was left alone trying to talk with the caller. Let's Go Brandon is a viral slogan for "F*** Joe Biden." However, the slogan has turned into a less offensive term for pushing back against the Biden Administration, and is used among Republican-voting populations whom overwhelmingly view the Biden Presidency unfavorably. The slogan originated from a NASCAR race where the crowds were cheering "F*** Joe Biden" in which an NBC News reporter said that the crowd was cheering "Let's Go Brandon." A song came out that was titled "Let's Go Brandon" and has charted various music platforms. By Biden making the mistake of not understanding what the man was saying in the call, he essentially legitimized the “Let’s Go Brandon” slogan, bringing it from a NASCAR event, to the White House.
14. Hunter Biden
President Biden’s son Hunter Biden has been associated in shady business deals across the world. He has worked with Mexican, Chinese, and Russian businessmen with no real explanation for his gaining of millions of dollars from his business ventures. Joe Biden has even met with some of the people working with his son and public records show a connection between Biden's foreknowledge of U.S policy and Hunter Biden's investments.
Early in 2020, contents from a laptop owned by Hunter Biden leaked online. The content of this laptop show Hunter and his business partners discussing his ventures and also shows his sex adventures with prostitutes and his drug use. One of the videos on his laptop shows him openly discussing with a Russian prostitute about problems he's having and how he doesn't have to worry about it because his dad was going to run for President.
In October, a report by the DailyMail alleged that uncovered emails from Hunter Biden's laptop showed a link between then-Vice President Biden and Hunter Biden's bank accounts and also ties to Chinese and Russian transactions.
Hunter Biden began creating art in 2021, selling his art for $500,000 a painting. Expert art evaluators have evaluated Hunter Biden's artwork at much less of the asking price that he sells his artwork for. Thus, it has been alleged that Hunter may be selling his artwork as a means to process briberies or money that has been saved for him to cash in on. The art house that Hunter is using to sell his artwork has previously received Federal grants. The White House has said they made an agreement where Hunter Biden would not know who was buying his artwork, but still, President Biden could find out. Thus, he could see who is purchasing the paintings and may impact public policy for that individual. Of course, that is just an assumption. Most likely, Hunter is washing the money that he is owed for his business dealings with regards to China and Russia.
President Biden has said that he has not had anything to do with Hunter Biden’s financial practices. However, emails from Hunter Biden's laptop show that he set aside money from his business dealings to pay for his dad's bills. The transactions were done through Rosemont Seneca, Hunter Biden's investment firm.
Hunter Biden used an investment firm that he founded along with the former Secretary of State John Kerry's stepson Christopher Heinz and another individual named Devon Archer. One of the founders, Devon Archer was found guilty of committing fraud against Native American tribes, payroll fraud, and other financial fraud. Some of Rosemont Seneca's affiliates were frequently given trips to the White House during Obama's Administration.
A report that has not been confirmed has alleged that Hunter Biden had financial ties to a pandemic prevention company named Metabiota. Metabiota is partnered with EcoHealth Alliance and through EcoHealth has funded the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The U.S government health agencies also give funding to EcoHealth Alliance. The report alleges that Hunter had $30 million dollars in investments he pushed to Metabiota through his investment firm Rosemont Seneca.
Hunter Biden is linked to a Chinese state-owned investment firm called BHR financials. BHR is a close partner of Hunter Biden's investment firm. Through Rosemont Seneca, Hunter sold an American car parts manufacturer to BHR for $600 million dollars.
Hunter Biden sold an African cobalt mine to China which has resources needed to create electric car batteries. President Biden has signed an Executive Order encouraging investments into the electric car industry and has pushed car manufacturers to create electric cars. Another mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo owned by a local company was transferred to a Chinese company named Molybdenum through Rosemont Seneca. Rosemont Seneca made an estimated $7 billion dollars from the sales. These mines are one of the most abundant resources of cobalt and lithium in the world. With these two mines and one other mine they own in Afghanistan, China can dominate the electric car battery industry.
Hunter Biden and Jim Biden, a brother of Joe Biden, have business ties to a Chinese energy company called CEFC. The Biden's asked a partner of theirs named Tony Bobulinski to run the connections between the Biden family and CEFC. Bobulinski went public with the Biden family's business dealings, but the media did not pick up on the story. Biden has said on the campaign trail that he has no ties to his son Hunter's business dealings and has denied that he has ever met with his son's business partners. But pictures recovered from Hunter Biden's laptop show him shaking hands with some of his son's business partners. Bobulinski confirmed that then-Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter met with him to talk about the business dealings they were working on with the Chinese and said that nothing important business-wise happened without Joe Biden's approval. Hunter Biden and Bobulinski formed the company SinoHawk Holdings, LLC; the company was used to sell infrastructure-based projects to Chinese companies from the United States and other countries. He gave another company called Oneida Holdings, LLC a 50% ownership to the Biden's. A Chinese businessman, Ye Jianming who happens to own CEFC owned 50% of SinoHawk, Holdings, LLC. He also has a 50% stake of a Delaware company, Hudson West IV LLC. Delaware is the home state of Joe Biden and the his family. Ye Jiangmen also gave Hunter Biden a 3.16 carat diamond and wired $6 million to a Hunter Biden-Bobulinski owned company. An unconfirmed report says that the Biden's gained ties to CEFC through a former Clinton Administration official Rob Walker, whose wife served for Jill Biden's Second Lady office during Barrack Obama's term as President.
Hunter Biden had a habit of bringing people he was doing business with to Washington, D.C to introduce them to Joe Biden. This contradicts Biden's repeated denial that he never met with his son's business partners. Employees of Rosemont Seneca have also been given White House invites multiple times throughout Obama’s Presidency.
The only proven case of corruption between then-Vice President Biden and his son, was when a Senate investigation found Biden had violated the law by asking for the firing of the Attorney-General of Ukraine, who opened an investigation into Hunter Biden’s business dealings with Burisma. Biden withheld defense spending from Ukraine unless they fired the Attorney-General. The Vice President has even spoken about getting the Attorney-General out of office in a speech. Biden was never impeached as his tenure of office was over for 2 years. Trump was impeached for the crimes Biden committed, yet Trump never actually withheld defense spending to Ukraine he only asked that they re-open the investigation into Hunter Biden. This hypocrisy shows a two-tier system of justice for political officials as Congress impeached Trump for the same thing that Biden did, except Trump did not actually commit any crimes.
If the business dealings of Hunter Biden impacts Biden in any way, or if the President is actually involved in his dealings, it is possible he could be compromised and purposefully impacting public policy and economic conditions to ensure his son’s investments do well. Of course, there is no evidence to prove this as only bits and pieces have been put together so far. Americans should be concerned about the Hunter Biden story, but sadly, the reports that have come out are from biased sources and internet websites that cannot be proven for credibility. That doesn’t mean that the stories are not true, but means that caution must be taken that the story is not ‘fake news.’ When the Republican Party takes over the House of Representatives or the Senate, they will certainly open investigations into the Biden family’s business dealings and will have the power to review evidence, classified information, and communications. Hopefully these reports are false or that the President is not involved in any way with his son’s business dealings. The amount of damage it would do to American democracy if Biden is found to of abused his power for his son’s business dealings and impacted public policy will leave a scar on the White House for years to come and we should not hope for such a situation.
15. Impeachment of Joseph R. Biden
There is currently an effort to impeach the President of the United States Joseph R. Biden Jr.
There are currently seven articles of impeachment against President Biden and one against Vice President Harris.
The first article is for abuse of power by enabling bribery and other high crimes and misdemeanors. Introduced by Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, the article is for his use of power as Vice- President of the United States under President Obama where he allowed his son Hunter Biden to influence domestic policy of a foreign nation and accept benefits from foreign nationals in exchange for favors.
The second article is for high crimes and misdemeanors. Introduced by Representative Bob Gibbs.
The third article is for high crimes and misdemeanors. Introduced by Representative Randy Weber.
The fourth article is for high crimes and misdemeanors of betrayal to the public trust. Introduced by Representative Lauren Boebart.
The fifth article is for endangering the security of the United States and countering the will of Congress and other high crimes and misdemeanors. Introduced by Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene.
The sixth article is for usurping Congress's legislative authority and willfully circumventing the express guidance of the United States Supreme Court by extending the COVID-19 eviction moratorium, and other high crimes and misdemeanors. Introduced by Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene
The seventh and final article is for dereliction of duty by leaving behind thousands of American civilians and Afghan allies, along with numerous taxpayer-financed weapons and military equipment, endangering the lives of the American people and the security of the United States. Introduced by Marjorie Taylor Greene.
The only article of impeachment against Vice President Kamala Harris is for high crimes and misdemeanors of betrayal of public trust. Introduced by Representative Lauren Boebart. The article says that by supporting the Afghanistan pullout carried out by President Biden, she neglected her duties as Vice President to use the 25th Amendment to remove President Biden "due to his clear inability to effectively and competently handle the duties as Commander-in-Chief." And that the President has demonstrated memory issues by forgetting the names of the Pentagon, Department of Defense, and Secretary of Defense. Also, by refusing to take a cognitive test requested by Congress, and that by not invoking the 25th Amendment, Kamala Harris violated the public trust. The article uses polling data to show how Americans have distrust in President Biden and the Afghanistan pullout, but this is not a concrete piece of evidence to support why the American people have a distrust in the President. Then it leads on to say that the pullout that Kamala Harris supported led to the Taliban taking over Afghanistan. Finally it says that the Vice President used her Singapore trip to avoid the Afghanistan crisis.
16. Kamala Harris as Acting President
President Biden underwent a colonoscopy on November 19th. Kamala Harris became Acting President during the duration of Biden's check-up. She did not sign any Executive Orders or make any reported actions. She is the third Vice President in history to act as President.

18. What to Expect in 2022
What should you expect from the second year of President Joseph R. Biden's term? 2022 will be noted as a very active year for foreign policy. After the Afghanistan pullout, China and Russia will be emboldened to invade democracies. China will likely invade Taiwan and successfully take the small country without any pushback from the United States. Also, Russia will likely invade Ukraine, either before China's invasion of Taiwan or after. The United States is in the process of moving the semiconductor business out of Taiwan as the country is the world's second-best resource for semiconductors besides China. You can expect Congress to pass some kind of legislation to move the semiconductor industry out of Taiwan and into the United States.
Biden ordered the Federal government to increase the minimum wage to $15 by May of 2022. Federal employees and contractors can expect to see their minimum wage increases this year.
Inflation rose to a 30 year record of 6.8% in 2021. In the first month of 2022, inflation officially set to 7%. You can expect inflation to rise as new government regulations on critical industries begin to take effect and the prices of manufacturing increase due to rising gas prices. Unemployment so far has gone down to 3.9%. This is still a negative of 0.4% during 2019 when the economy had one of its best years. You can expect the unemployment rate to at least reach the level it was during 2019 (3.5%). Wages are increasing but when calculated to price increases caused by inflation, Americans won't have as much money to spend. However, if there is an economic recession or a stock market crash due to some kind of financial stress event or world event, then you can expect unemployment to change and inflation to rise further. As it is the risk for an economic recession is moderate. However, there is no telling if Congress will spend trillions of dollars like the last two years. In total, the government has spent $13.6T on Congressional appropriations, largely for COVID-19 spending. $6T was from Trump's last year as President, and $3.1T from Biden's first year. This excessive spending has led to the production of too much money which in turn devalues the currency, raises the national debt, and risks a default. The government almost defaulted on its debt twice in 2021 but Congress issued last minute raises to the debt ceiling. The government will have enough borrowing power until late 2023 where a default could occur. The excessive spending by Congress has also affected inflation directly. Again, the production of too much currency brings the value of the U.S dollar down. Add inflation with lowered value in currency and you get a bad economic condition. An economic recession will likely rely on if inflation continues to rise, unemployment rises, and Congress continues to spend trillions of dollars. A recession would drastically affect the market and could trigger a Stock Market crash. As it is, investors are overly optimistic in the economy. If too many investors think the economy is doing well, and a bad financial condition occurs, the immediate response would be a sell of stocks, which would bring the Stock Market value down by 1000's of points. Again, a recession is not likely in 2022 as economic conditions right now give a moderate risk for a recession.
The Democrat Party will likely lose the 2022 Midterm Elections which will decide who controls the United States House of Representatives and Senate. Early polling shows a strong public opinion that is against Democrats. The failures of the Biden agenda, foreign policy defeats including Afghanistan; and the out-of-control inflation rate will lead to an even lesser support for Democrats. The party is even losing support from key voters such as the black and Hispanic populations. Biden's approval rating averages at around 42.5% and the lowest polls show a 33% approval. Kamala Harris is in the 28% margin of approval. If these polls show to be true, added with the failures of this Presidency and the history of the President's party usually losing one of two houses of Congress in a midterm election: it is likely that you can expect to see the Democrat party lose significantly against newcomer independent and Republican candidates across the country. Looking at the results of the 2020 Presidential election, you can see that many counties were dominated by President Trump, and the Democrats lost much ground in key populations. Although Biden won most of the heavily populated areas of states, he lost small towns, and rural counties. This showed a trend that big populations voted Democrat, while smaller populations voted Republican. If voters across populations in different districts are dissatisfied with the Democrat party and the President, they will lose in their elections. As many as 29 House and Senate Democrats have announced their retirements. This could indicate that politicians within the Democrat party see their campaigns failing in a re-election bid. However, the biggest factor that will determine who controls the House and Senate will evidently be made based off of President Biden's failed COVID-19 promises and the rising costs of gas and necessities.
President Biden will pick his first Supreme Court justice after Justice Stephen Bryer announced his retirement. Bryer was picked by Clinton, so the current conservative majority in the Supreme Court will stay unless Congress approves a change in the number of Supreme Court Justices, something that is not recommended by the President's own commission on Supreme Court changes. President Biden will likely pick a black female for Supreme Court Justice.
You can expect China to invade Taiwan after the 2022 Beijing Olympics. China will be emboldened after Russia invades Ukraine and when the United States does not take any military action against Russia for it. China sees the United States' current leadership as weak and unconcerned with foreign policy. This came to be after the disastrous Afghanistan pullout and Biden's failure to secure Ukraine while Russia was forming a barrier around the country. Taiwan is not capable of defending itself without U.S support. Joe Biden has already said that the U.S will not get involved with the tensions between Taiwan and China citing a "One China" policy. Thus, China has already amassed 3 nuclear submarines, multiple warships capable of landing and sending aircraft, and has various cruisers that can be used for war. 100's of nuclear capable aircraft are already active in Taiwanese waters and could easily be used for some early victories along Taiwanese land. Countries around the world are seemingly following the U.S' footsteps and are not going to stop China from invading Taiwan. If Ukraine and Taiwan are invaded and the invasions are successful; then that will mean three democracies would be lost in Biden's Presidency. Afghanistan, formerly the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan was a democracy with elections, but now, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is a totalitarian government, stripping away women's rights, and freedom of speech and expression. Education has been taken away and the people will be surrounded with terrorist activities as Afghanistan will become a terrorist haven. According to military officials, Afghanistan will likely be used by terrorist groups to attack the United States. Ukraine which is a democracy with elections will be replaced by a corrupt democracy where elections are rigged and the winners of elections will be those Russia supports and those who are Russian oligarchs and elites. Taiwan which is a democracy with elections will be replaced with an extension of Chinese government. Freedom of religion, expression, and speech will be removed. China will issue propaganda to ensure the Taiwanese people are atheist and that they renounce their faiths, or at least ensure the next generation of Taiwanese will. Taiwan's history and culture will be demolished as China imposes it's culture and forces it upon the next generation of Taiwanese people. Christians, Muslims, Jews, Messianic Jews, and Catholics will be persecuted as China will destroy religious texts such as the Bible, Quran, Torah, etc. Taiwan will also be given unto corruption and inequality. All elections will be replaced with China's system where candidates are either chosen for elections by the Communist Party of China, or officials are simply appointed. Taiwan would no longer be responsible for itself, but would rely on the People's Republic of China for its leadership. China would censor and take over media in Taiwan and restrict the people's ability to travel out of the country. Forced abortions, sex trafficking and other human rights abuses will take place.
19. Closing Arguments
Biden’s Presidency has been a failure so far. It seems that the President’s focus is on domestic policy and social issues rather than things that will actually affect the American people. Foreign policy is the most important aspect of a Presidency. If you cannot handle world issues and stop adversaries from taking over countries and causing chaos, you will be failing at securing the United States. The immediate effects of Biden’s failed foreign policy will not be felt by Americans until decades later. In the future, when China is ready to take over the world, the United States citizens will regret their decision to focus on social issues instead of creating an independent economy and revitalizing the military. The government spends too much money on domestic issues and welfare programs, but does not focus on expanding the military, especially the Space Force. Our budgets are too small for defense, yet too large for social safety nets. We need to change this direction and begin focusing on our securities. Our economy is reliant on China to make our goods, and technology. They steal what little we don’t give them, and take everything that we so diligently hand to their possession. China has our technologies that we developed, and turned them against us by producing them at cheaper prices. Thus, the entire industry of hardware development has fallen into the Chinese hands. Much the same for the clothing, toy, furniture, automobile, metal, and oil industries. If Biden wants to be taken seriously on the world stage, he needs to issue full trade and travel bans on the People’s Republic of China, send U.S forces to Taiwan, and proceed with military action against Russia. The “safe” route Biden did with Afghanistan and that he is currently doing with Ukraine and Taiwan does not work. The idea that non-involvement will stop a war is false. But you can still prevent war and protect our allies at the same time. Russia and China are already violating treaties and international laws. We need to sanction them and block the Chinese from our economy if we ever want to send any kind of strong message to them. The critical moments of the next 20 years will decide who will be the world’s superpower: the United States, or China. Biden is already making significant damage to the mission to defeat China and authoritarianism. Hopefully, the United States will get better leadership in 2024. If we continue with the “safe” route, social issues, domestic issues, and frankly, politics; we will fail at the end goal of preserving democracy and peace around the world.
