Charade - Henry Mancini Revisited
In this innovative project, we embarked on a musical journey by reinterpreting Henry Mancini's iconic compositions live alongside the film classic "Charade" (1963) directed by Stanley Donen. Through meticulous preparation and dedication, we removed the original music from the film to create a seamless fusion of live music and cinema experience.
Thanks to the groundbreaking Autoconductor software, developed by Lothar Felten, we achieved precise synchronization of the film and our newly arranged live music, enhancing the overall artistic impact of the performance.
Critics have raved about the movie:
Rotten Tomatoes: "A globetrotting caper that prizes its idiosyncratic pieces over the general puzzle, Charade is a delightful romp with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn's sparkling chemistry at the center of some perfectly orchestrated mayhem."
Brian Eggert: "It's almost a cliche at this point to call Charade the best Alfred Hitchcock film not directed by Hitchcock. Yet, there's an undeniable truth behind the claim."
Emanuel Levy: "Stanley Donen's stylishly elegant, largely entertaining romance-thriller teams Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn (then at the height of their careers) for the first and only time."
Our talented musicians:
