Brief introduction about church history

Bible Verses:

[EPHESIANS 5:32] This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.

[EPHESIANS 4:8,11-13] [8] Therefore it says, "When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men." [11] And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, [12] to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.

[1 Cor 12:12, 27] The body is one and has many members, Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.

[Rev 19:7] Let us rejoice... for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready.

Church History:

1. 400BC: The Old Testament 39 Books, confirmed(Hebrew Canon).

2. 30BC-14AD: Octavian(Augustus Caesar)

[Luke 2:1] In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.

3. About 3AD: The Birth of Jesus.

4. 14-37AD Tiberius I. 37-41AD Gaius Caligula.

[Luke 3:1] In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene.

13. 334AD: Kingdom of Aksum (Ethiopia) declares Christianity as the official religion.

14. 395AD: The division of Western Roma and Eastern Roma. (Division of Catholic and Orthodox started.)

15. 397AD: The New Testament: 27 books confirmed (The Council of Carthage).

16. 1054AD: The Great Division of Eastern Orthodox and Western Catholic.

    1. 1173-1176AD: Waldenses.

    2. 1517-1520AD: Martin Luther(1483-1546): 95 Theses, justified by faith, Bible German Translation. And Lutheran Church.

    3. 1523AD: Zwingli(1484 –1531)-‘Sixty-Seven Articles’.

20. 1560AD: John Knox established ‘Scotch Presbyterian Church’.

21. 1609AD: John Smyth established the ‘Baptist church’.

22. 1672AD: Orthodox 81 Books Bible(54+27) (Synod of Jerusalem).

23. 1727AD: Zinzendorf(1700-1760):  ‘The Moravian Church’(The united Brothers: 1400-1500-).

24. 1738AD: John Wesley established ‘Methodist Church’.

25. 1827AD: ‘British Brotherhood or Plymouth Brethren’. Edward Cronin, John Nelson Darby(1800-1882). (Closed Brethren, Open Brethren).

26. What is the church that God wants as revealed in the Bible? 

    1. Seeing the mistakes of sectarian and organizations, recognizing that there is only one body of Christ, the church should not be organized by human will, but should only be directly led by the Holy Spirit.

    2. Finding that although people are saved through faith, they are rewarded according to their deeds in the presence of God. Being saved is a matter of life, being rewarded is a matter of life.

27. 1827AD: Joseph Smith established ‘the Mormon Church’.

28. 1832AD: Presbyterian believers established the Church of Christ in America.

29. 1852-1922: Charles Taze Russell established the Jehovah's Witnesses Movement.

30. 1800s-Inner Life: Molinos, Madame Guyon, Fenelon, Andrew Murray. Mrs. Jesse Penn-Lewis. 

31. 1854AD: James Hudson Taylor(1832-1905).

32. 1895AD: Sister Margret E. Barber(1866-1930) came to Fuzhou, China.

33. 1901AD: The Pentecostal Church was established in Kansas.

34. 1904AD: Welsh revival.
