Hello, 你好，雷侯 ~ I'm Christa. I grew up in Hong Kong, speaking English, Mandarin and Cantonese. I then moved to the US to attend Bryn Mawr College in Philadelphia, PA.
Through the liberal arts education and dedicated professors, I found my passions in research. I worked with Professor Leslie Rescorla on my senior thesis about the language development and code mixing/switching tendencies of a trilingual child. The data is from one of CBRC's longitudinal studies, the Leo Corpus.
My experience has demonstrated to me it is imperative we study how culture and language, separately and together, are related and influence the development of children around the world. These research pursuits has led me to my current position at CBRC .
