Chris Gill
Music Teacher, Conductor, Composer, Writer
Chris has over twenty-five years’ experience as a music teacher, conductor, composer and writer. He has conducted over 200 performances with orchestras, choirs and opera companies throughout the UK, including Heritage Opera, a professional touring company he founded in 2006. His music textbooks, including Harmonising Bach Chorales, The A Level Music Study Guide and Let's Get Musical, a music course for 11- to 16-year-olds, reflect his engaging and inclusive approach. Chris has also written and composed GRRRLZ, a critically-acclaimed musical comedy about female empowerment in the late 1960s, which first performed in Oxford and London in late 2021.
Chris' qualifications include a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the University of Birmingham, the Royal Northern College of Music Conducting Course, a Postgraduate Certificate of Education from University College Worcester, an Independent Schools' Qualification in Academic Management (Level 2) from University College London, and a Master's degree in Learning and Teaching from the University of Oxford. Chris has worked as a Deputy Head, Director of Music and Musical Director.
