Single-player, Platformer, 2D, 3D, Boomer Shooter
Level & Environmental Designer (January-May 2025)
Final Render is a Boomer Shooter Platformer which mixes 2D and 3D elements. The player must battle their way through corrupted computer files in hopes of escaping the corruption.
The player must battle their way through a deteriorating liminal space, fighting through hordes of enemies which are seeking to remove the player's corrupted self in hopes to restore stability.
Skills & Responsibilities
Developed two 3D environments - spawn area and main level - reflecting an unworldly-like play space for the player to explore and fight enemies.
Several environmental and level design iterations.
Teamworking skills were crucial to ensure we worked well together, completed the game within the timeframe, and mitigated any issues quickly.
Consistent iteration during development through team members' feedback to ensure the levels functioned correctly (programmers' feedback) and was aesthetically appealing (artists' feedback).
Game studio workflow maintained progression throughout the project through daily standups, in-person communication, and work hours to prepare us for the industry.
Scope management was important to fit the scale of the level's goal, mechanics, and genre/theme.
Developed Unity ProBuilder skills when designing the levels.
Demonstrated resilience as ideas and designs were scrapped or required iteration.
