Air Quality Inside A Vehicle

Thank you for your answer!

Many people do not realise that they are not protected inside their car at all. Typical standard factory fitted cabin air filters only remove around 35-40% of the dangerous particulate matter exposing you to harmful substances such as brake dust, gases, fumes and chemicals and almost 0% of harmful gases. You could be passively smoking two cigarettes worth of nitrogen dioxide when sitting in traffic for just one hour because the air intake system of your car is typically right by the exhaust of the vehicles in front of you.

What are the available solutions?

1. Air purifiers with HEPA filters

A vehicle air purifier with a HEPA filter captures dust, allergens, pet dander, bacteria, nitrogen dioxide and most other airborne contaminants. After going through the filter, it pushes out the clean air.

2. Air ionisers

Air ionisers don't filter the air in the same manner as air purifiers with HEPA filters. Ionisers release negatively charged ions that attach to particles inside your vehicle and make them too heavy to keep floating around. With air ionisers, you may have to vacuum-clean your vehicle a little bit more often.
