CHOICES cic Founders Getting Axed Off!

CHOICES cic have been thrown a helping hand from Axlym UK who raised a staggering £ 600.00 to support the work which CHOICES cic offer.

Mark, an ex-service user was so appreciative of the support he had received, he wanted to give something back.  Arranging a tournament for Axe Throwing from his base in Hinckley he was able to donate a proportion of the entrance fees and held raffles to raise the money.

Founded in 2006, by Sarah Heward and Tracie Holroyd, CHOICES cic offers both room-based, face to face counselling and Equine (horse) Therapy, by professional counsellors.

Holroyd states “we work with children, young people and adults, and have supported the community of Tamworth for 17 years, we do not receive any continuous support from either Tamworth Borough Council or Staffordshire County Council.

Covid 19 has had an immense impact on the number of referrals from young people we are receiving.  Referrals come from GP’s. Well-Being Matters, Schools, Social Services, Police, Malachi and other local organisations and agencies, we also receive self-referrals, but without any financial support”

“We are unique”, says Heward, but without support like this from Mark, we are not sure how long we can sustain our service in 2024”
