Dosage and Application

The dosage of GO2™ varies depending on water conditions and contamination levels. For most municipal systems, a residual concentration of up to 5 ppm ensures effective disinfection. For sulfide odor control, a minimum of 5.2 ppm GO2™ effectively oxidizes 1 ppm of sulfide between pH 5–9. Similarly, for phenol destruction, at pH less than 8, 1.5 ppm of GO2™ oxidizes 1 ppm of phenol, while at pH above 10, 3.3 ppm is sufficient.

Odor and Contaminant Control

GO2™ is non-reactive with ammonia and most nitrogen compounds, allowing it to work efficiently even at lower doses than chlorine. It effectively destroys phenols, simple cyanides, and sulfides without producing colloidal sulfur, which often causes turbidity and foul odors. Additionally, it helps oxidize iron and manganese compounds, improving water clarity and quality.

Safe and Effective Dosing

By simply combining the two components of GO2™, a 3% chlorine dioxide solution is produced. It should be introduced at a point ensuring uniform mixing and distribution, ideally below the water level to minimize volatilization.
