Chitchat (“we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application (“App”).
By using Chitchat, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
We collect the following information to provide and improve our services:

Username
College / School / University details
Pass-out year
State and District where the college or institution is located
Gender
Profile image
Images, messages, and other content that you voluntarily post or share within the app
Device type and operating system
App usage data for performance and feature improvement
Chitchat may request the following permissions to enable core app features:
Notification Access – to send alerts, updates, and important information
Camera Access – to capture photos for profile pictures or posts
Microphone Access – for voice-based communication features
Call Access – to enable in-app calling functionality
Gallery / Storage Access – to upload images or media content
All permissions are used strictly for app functionality and can be managed from your device settings.
We use your information to:
Create and manage user accounts
Enable social features such as posts, messaging, and calls
Provide communication and collaboration tools
Improve app performance and user experience
Maintain security and prevent misuse
We use trusted third-party services to operate essential app features:
Firebase – backend services, authentication, and analytics
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) – push notifications
Google Login – secure sign-in
Jitsi Meet (https://meet.ffmuc.net/) – real-time communication services
These services process data in accordance with their own privacy policies.
We do not sell or rent user data.
Data is shared only with the above-mentioned third-party services when required to operate app features, comply with legal obligations, or protect user safety.
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide our services or comply with legal requirements. When data is no longer required, it is securely deleted.
Users can request the deletion of their Chitchat account and associated personal data at any time.
To request account deletion, users can use the “Contact Us / Delete Account” option available in the app or send an email request to:

After receiving a valid deletion request, we will review and process the request. The user’s account and associated data will be permanently deleted within 5 to 10 business days, unless data retention is required for legal or security purposes
Chitchat is not intended for children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If such data is identified, it will be deleted immediately.
We use industry-standard security practices to protect user data, including:
Secure servers
Restricted access controls
End-to-end encryption for supported communication features
Despite these measures, no online system is completely secure.
