The CHIPS Operations Orientation is an online course that supplements the on-site learning of all new Operations Team Members. This course will serve as the road map for a six-month probationary period for all new hires to the CHIPS Operations Team. The course design follows the Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) Examination Blueprint. Within the Blueprint Domains are the specific items which any new CHIPS Operations Team hire needs to demonstrate a basic competency level (knowledge, skills, and/or ability) by the end of the probationary period. This course will help guide the Operations employee through the onboarding process and towards CHSOS certification in the future.
After obtaining a knowledge base, the new hire must discuss/demonstrate competency in the item on the checklist. A CHIPS team member who holds standing as a CHSOS must sign off to validate your knowledge level.
This course is meant to facilitate the six-month onboarding process at CHIPS. Work on this course does not take the place on direct hands-on learning, rather it is meant to work in tandem with this direct knowledge acquisition for a deeper understanding of the field of healthcare simulation and your role at CHIPS.Â
