Investigation of Parkinson's disease pathogenic mechanisms
Investigation of Parkinson's disease pathogenic mechanisms
Our laboratory focuses on Parkinson's disease genetics and investigates disease mechanisms using animal models, actively exploring novel biomarkers in hopes of finding mechanism-oriented treatments for this degenerative disease. Beyond the basic research, we have established Taiwan's first next-generation sequencing targeted gene panel for Parkinson's disease and related degenerative.
Research Brief
Establish genetic architecture of PD in our population and explore novel disease-causing genes.
Establish in vitro iPSC model from patients with PD-causative mutations for gene editing.
Decipher pathogenic mechanism of PD using in vivo fly and rodent model.
Decipher gut-brain axis mechanism in PD.
Identify novel surrogate biomarkers for early prediction and monitor disease progression in PD.
