China Import Data seemingly affected as India states it does not need to import from China

China and India have been leading a successful import-export relationship for a few decades now. However, the recent border tension between the two countries has led India to rethink its consistent dependence on China for high-end imports of Electrical and heavy Machinery, Smartphones, Furniture, Fertilisers, Food products, and Pharma. To begin with, China Import data expresses the reason behind India on the deficit when it comes to foreign trade data maintained with China.

In 2020, Mr. Narendra Modi, India's prime minister, motivated its exporters and importers toward the Atmanibhar Bharat Movement (Self-Reliant India Movement), where he insisted that India will focus on becoming more independent. Furthermore, he also classified that Indian manufacturers and businesses will get an edge so that they can produce commodities in India rather than depending on other countries for import.

After a gap of a few months, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, has publicly stated the upcoming plans of India. According to Nitin Gadkari, he says that India does not need to import from China. He further states that India has enough workforce and talent that can easily contribute to the in-country production of items such as agarbattis. Indeed, he also stated that India would increase its exports and decrease its imports in order to obtain independence.

To begin with, the border tension between India and China is not the sole reason for India's current movement. During an Event, Mr. Nitin Gadkari also said that India has a greater chance of overcoming boundaries and dealing with other countries such as the USA and UK. The reason being, these countries are no longer in favor of dealing with China after the COVID-19 widespread and China's silence on the issue. Without a doubt, it raises questions like Does China deliberately cause pandemics worldwide? Hence, India is being seen as a substitute country to get essentials imports.

Will it help China Import data to boost?

For the most part, in 2019, China Import data with Cybex.in revealed China's import value to be 31.5 trillion yuan. According to Cybex's expert, China's import value is equivalent to 14% of international trade data, specifically, global imports. Hence, without a doubt, if China's export value decreases (as countries like India, the USA, and the UK no longer want to deal), its import data will comparably show a deficit value in the long term. Thus, causing the Chinese exporters to suffer.
