This is Gremlin Grenade - twin gauntlets which the size is as big as a human head, owned by my kamioshi Gigi Murin from Hololive EN Justice.
I done this during the 3D Game Art Development course. This weapon is one the four I chosen to make for my assignment. I need to model them out and apply realistic texture on the model.
This project is fanart, which I have done simply for learning purposes and is entirely non-commercial.

List of parts for the gauntlet
At the side part, the bronze cover should be covering the whole part around the thumbs, and the bronze plate should be longer to cover it. But I failed to notice and result in that part not covered.
A lesson learned to always careful for details and mesurement when looking from references.

Because the fingers will be moving, the parts were seperated when doing the texture to ensure the mapping for normal or occlusion won't affect other area.
And that's it, the project is done. I'm kinda proud of the work at least... if ingoring the "minor error" I did
Is what you're thinking, right?
Well, not that diehard but, as a Hololive fan, and especially as a grem(fan name of Gigi Murin) myself, it wouldn't make sense when I just leave the project like this without trying to 100% reduplicate the whole thing isn't it. So this time, I'm going to paint the texture - by handpaint, to match its original artstyle.
I have multiple layers for shadows and highlights especially the bronze part as its covers largest area for the model itself. This handpainting took me about 10 hours to finish (thanks to the existing 3d model referance from the official, or else I might take way longer to finish painting...)
To add on, this is purely just the base color, normal map and AO. I didn't use metallic or roughness in this.
When doing the render, I found that they probably used some sort of shaders - maybe toon shaders or anything that makes it look more anime style. But I guess I would never find out how they do it...
I'm quite satisfied about the result though.
