Employee meals are a privilege, NOT a right. There are several rules that we are expected to follow to ensure that this is not being abused by anyone. Here we will lay out those rules in detail.
The dollar amount we are allowed is $11.00. When you work a 10-hour shift (or more) you may receive 2 employee meals. Tax is not included in your total (more money for you). If you go over your $11.00 limit, you will pay the remaining balance. Meals are allowed, within reason, per team leaders approval. Here are a few other rules about our meal policy:
Your free meal must be eaten in the break room or taken from the restaurant at the end of your shift.
You may not leave during your 20-minute break unless you have permission from leadership.
Drinks must be consumed in the back of house, never in front of guests.
All food items must be rung in as an “Employee Meal” in our register system in order to receive the $11.00 discount.
If you forget a mug or cup, you may purchase an employee cup for $.50
Breaks! For every 5 consecutive hours you work, you will recieve one 20-minute unpaid break. For example, if you work 11am-4pm, you will recieve one 20-minute unpaid break. If you work 11am-9pm, you will recieve two 20-minute unpaid breaks. You cannot combine your two 20-minute unpaid breaks.
Leaders are in charge of running breaks. You should only take your break(s) at a time approved by the leader on duty. You are required to clock out for all breaks. Failure to report your break time accurately may result in disciplinary action.
Do note: If a sudden rush occurs, you may be called back from break, however, the leader on shift will coordinate a time to have you finish the rest of your break.
