SATURDAY Workshop 1:
Parenting from the Inside, Out
It is easy, in the midst of the demands of life and the challenges of parenting, to lose sight of the inner life of our children. Yet, the way we react or respond to our children shapes their inner life, the way they see themselves, God, and the world. In this workshop we will explore and discuss how to respond to our children at all times, and particularly when they misbehave, in ways that shape their inner life toward Christ, the Church, God and His Kingdom.
SATURDAY Workshop 2:
Parenting From the Outside, In
Increasingly in our culture, authority and obedience are considered bad words. Yet, God has given us real authority as parents and obedience is critical to a peaceful home and growing closer to God. In this workshop we will explore how we, as Orthodox, understand our authority as parents, and the difference between being in charge and being in control. We will discuss strategies for setting limits, giving consequences, and staying in control, as parents, of ourselves as our children learn to control their own actions and behaviors.
