I am a fellow at the Davis Center at Harvard University.

My research at Harvard focuses on the following topics:

My academic interests include nuclear security, Soviet studies, China studies and MNEs&SOEs' corporate governance. My academic passion lies in incorporating significant yet often overlooked historical factors into the examination of pressing legal issues.

I am the recipient of the 8th Amartya Sen Essay Prize, awarded by Yale University's Global Justice Program, and my prize-winning essay China’s Role in Myanmar’s Bloody Jade Industry: Poison or Panacea analyzes how the Sino-Burma jade trade, dating back to 16th century, lends China the leverage to sustain or sabotage Myanmar’s coup d’état, and why Biden’s sanction on the Tatmadaw that neglects the historical background that China and Myanmar has shared is of limited effect.

My article Vietnam Marine Life Disaster: A Test Case of a Home State’s Jurisdiction in Taiwan, was published by Cambridge University Press'  Business and Human Rights Journal, which is the authoritative scholarly platform of business and human rights. This piece offers a glance at how the development of a Taiwanese petrochemical giant and polluter is deeply embedded in the local battlefields of the Cold War and the US’s global containment of Communism.

I have also been honored with several awards and research grants in Taiwan. Notably, I received the esteemed Li Mo Foundation Legal Symposium Award in 2020, which is the most prestigious award for early-career lawyers in Taiwan. Additionally, I was awarded the Transnational Law Research Grant in 2021 by the foundation of  the Lee and Li Attorneys-at-Law, the largest law firm in Taiwan. I was also supported by the Banking Research Grant by Taiwan Cooperative Bank in 2021, and the Chen Zhao Ying Public Law Fellowship by the College of Law at National Taiwan University.
