Cheterrapesti – The Earth Beneath Your Feet has reached issue #100.
Born in June 2012, the newsletter has changed its look more than once and, admittedly, it has not always kept a perfect schedule. Remains the same its original and genuine spirit: to speak about the world of soil and sustainability, and to share reliable and accessible knowledge and informations with everyone who works with soil—or simply depends on it (which is all of us).
From the start, the main goal has been to strengthen awareness of soil as a vital resource for life and for the habitability of our planet. Over the years, Cheterrapesti has grown thanks to many collaborations, most of them linked with the European Network on Soil Awareness (ENSA), with contributions and suggestions from people - scientists and experts, but also lay keens and supporters - who truly care about soil awareness.
Curating each issue has also increased the editors’ own understanding, and the positive feedback received over time has confirmed the value of this effort. Since late 2016, with the move into the Sustainability Education and Environmental Reporting Unit of ARPAE Emilia-Romagna, the newsletter has expanded its scope, connecting soils to sustainability and United Nations’ Agenda 2030.
Starting with this issue, the newsletter changes format once again, now hosted on a new platform, Raindrop.io. It’s not straightforward to find a web solution practical and at the same time reader-friendly: we hope this choice will prove useful and will meet readers’ expectations.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting—let’s keep soil in the spotlight for the next 100.
