Visit of Ryan Duckett/Mickey Arthur and Nye Donald
WEDNESDAY 25 FEBRUARY 2026
We were pleased to welcome again Ryan Duckett, CEO of Derbyshire CCC. Ryan has been
involved with Derby. CCC for some 12 years, firstly as Commercial Director and for the last 7
years as Chief Executive.
Ryan was accompanied by Mickey Arthur, Head Coach and Nye Donald, T20 Captain.
Mickey has previously held coaching appointments with the national teams of South Africa,
Australia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan – who he led to win the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017.
Nye Joined Derbyshire after playing for his native Glamorgan and then Hampshire. Known for his
explosive batting -exemplified by his performance at the Chesterfield Cricket Festival last year -
succeeding the likes of Luis Reece, Matt Critchley – in despatching the balls bowled by Yorkshire
into the Queen’s Park Lake!
Ryan described the County Club’s plans for development of the County ground and their approach
to Project Gemini -the use of the Hundred franchise sale monies. Mickey talked about recruiting of
new players and his optimism for the new season, as well entertaining us with tales of his time as
the coach to South Africa.
Nye has been appointed as the T20 Captain and mentioned his role models and approach to
batting.
All three responded to the many questions -on Derbyshire and on the England team -with honesty,
humour and enthusiasm about their roles and optimism for the coming season
