AGM 2025

REPORT OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HELD ON MONDAY  27th Oct 2025

The meeting opened with President David Marshal paying tribute to our late Secretary John
Windle and remarked on his hard work and considerable contribution to the work of the Club.

He also referred to the passing of other long-standing members of the Club including Bill Smith,
Brian Newton, Mick Newton, and Ann Middleton.

A minute’s silence was held in tribute and remembrance.

Reports were presented from the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer, all of which were included
in the September Newsletter.
The final accounts for 2024/25 were approved, together with the budget for 2025/26.
Subscriptions will remain unchanged at £15.00

Officers appointed for the coming year 2025/26 were:

Chairman: Neil Swanwick
Vice Chair: Vacant*
Secretary: Peter Bateman
Treasurer: Steve Billington

Committee Members: Paul Hand (raffles), Jonathan Harris (web-master) Laurence Hunt.

NIVEN ROPER

Niven has retired as Treasurer after 35 years’ service to the Club. In paying tribute, President
David Marshall referred to the fact that his length of tenure exceeded significantly many others
including himself and the late Mike Taylor, and that Niven had performed many more
administrative duties than managing the finances including producing and circulating the
Newsletters, subscriptions collection and a point of contact.

In recognition, Niven was presented with an inscribed Silver Salver.
