Thank you to all who participated in the 2020-2021 Read-a-Thon!
We raised $5,980 to purchase a Little Free Library and support education enrichment.
The first annual CHES Read-a-Thon was held March 1-26, 2021 to raise money for a Little Free Library at CHES and education enrichment! Every child who participated received a gift, with the chance to earn weekly prizes and books for their class. The student who raised the most donations, and the kids in grades K-2 and 3-5 who read the most minutes, each received a Kindle Fire!
Grand Prize: Kindle Fire!
First, parents - sign up your child/ren on the Read-a-Thon website by March 1 and start sharing your student's donation webpage to collect pledges.
During the Read-a-Thon from March 1-26, students will read daily for as many minutes as possible; the goal is at least 15 minutes/day for K-2 and 20 minutes/day for 3-5. Audiobooks count!
Weekly prizes will be given to the classes with the most minutes read. Other prizes will be given to students who raise the most donations or read the most minutes, by grade and overall. ALL children who participate will receive prizes!

Minutes: Only minutes read March 1 through March 26 will count toward the Read-a-Thon. Any minutes entered prior to March 1 were removed. The Read-a-Thon website will close at 3:00 p.m. on March 26.
Prizes: All participants who sign up on the Read-a-Thon site or submit a reading log will receive a prize. Weekly prize winners will be notified; however, weekly prizes will be held for pickup after March 26.
Reading Resources: Students may read online or in-person, and audiobooks count! Online books are available within MyOn app in the student's Backpack. Students may also check out books from the school library. Check with your child's teacher for more age-appropriate reading ideas!
Donations: Students and guardians should share the donation page to collect online donations with a suggested goal of $50 per student. Prizes will be given for most donations raised. Donations that are paid online are preferred; however, if you wish to submit a check donation, please contact the PTA.
Paper Log: If parent/guardian access to a computer is limited, students may log their daily minutes on paper and submit a paper log, signed by a parent or guardian, to their teacher by the end of the school day on March 26.
