An Important Update About the Cherry Carnival Grease Pole Event

The Grease Pole has been a long-standing Cherry Carnival tradition, and we know it's an event that many people look forward to each year.

As your local fire department, our responsibility is not only to organize great community events but also to ensure they are conducted as safely and responsibly as possible. After reviewing the event, we have updated the participant requirements to better reflect today's safety standards and our commitment to protecting everyone involved.

Effective this year:

• Participants must be at least 16 years of age.

• Participants who are 16 or 17 years old must have a parent or legal guardian complete a consent form before participating.

These changes were not made lightly. They are intended to help ensure the Grease Pole remains a fun, exciting, and safe tradition for years to come while allowing the Bear River Fire Department to continue offering this iconic event to our community.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to balance tradition with our responsibility to keep participants as safe as possible.
