We're a sociable running club based in Chepstow, Monmouthshire - with members of all ages and abilities. Whether you want to work on your speed & stamina or shed a few pounds; to race or simply to join us for a social jog, the Harriers has something for everyone, even the little-'uns!
Training: We meet for training on a Tuesday & Thursday evening in Chepstow Leisure Centre Bar at 6.50pm ready to run at 7pm. Tuesdays are speed sessions where we generally train in pace groups. Are you new to running? Fancy starting but don't know how?
From time to time we organise a beginners course. We have used the tried and tested 'Couch to 5K' course (C25K) - it's a world proven 9 week programme ending with a 5k run at a local Parkrun. If you can presently walk at least a mile then the programme is for you. Click here for more information C25K.
Also, on our usual Tuesday and Thursday training evenings we welcome runners who can already run/jog for 45 mins. See here for more information.
However, if you’re not yet up to running for 45 minutes and can't wait for our next beginners course and really want to get started we advise people to follow the advice on one of the many websites that give beginners programmes. We have found the following to be helpful:
