About Us

We're a sociable running club based in Chepstow, Monmouthshire - with members of all ages and abilities. Whether you want to work on your speed & stamina or shed a few pounds; to race or simply to join us for a social jog, the Harriers has something for everyone, even the little-'uns!

Training: We meet for training on a Tuesday & Thursday evening in Chepstow Leisure Centre Bar at 6.50pm ready to run at 7pm. Tuesdays are speed sessions where we generally train in pace groups. What ever your pace there is a group for you. Thursdays are mostly longer social runs. Our dedicated coaching team meet once a month to plan the training schedule. You can check this month’s plan out here.

Racing: There is a rich variety of running events to get involved in at Chepstow: cross country, fell races, road running, marathons, time trials, relays etc. We are also part of a group of 9 running clubs in East Wales which organise age category competition in both cross country and road racing. We have our own Championship, Fell Race Series and Handicap Races too.

We have:

  • weekly speed sessions and long runs
  • an annual club championship to take part in
  • a monthly curry club
  • free entry to road league & cross-country league races
  • various social events throughout the year
  • a club handicap series to compete in

Are you new to running? Fancy starting but don't know how?

From time to time we organise a beginners course. We have used the tried and tested 'Couch to 5K' course (C25K) - it's a world proven 9 week programme ending with a 5k run at a local Parkrun. If you can presently walk at least a mile then the programme is for you. Click here for more information C25K.

Also, on our usual Tuesday and Thursday training evenings we welcome runners who can already run/jog for 45 mins. See here for more information.

However, if you’re not yet up to running for 45 minutes and can't wait for our next beginners course and really want to get started we advise people to follow the advice on one of the many websites that give beginners programmes. We have found the following to be helpful:
