I am an explorer of abstract realms. Though I often descend to concrete ones. :)
I am a Simons postdoc in mathematics at KSE in Kyiv. We are creating the first international math department in Ukraine.
"A magic dwells in each beginning, protecting us, telling us how to live." Hermann Hesse - Stufen (Steps)
My main study focuses on purely inseparable morphisms, which are currently the most understudied morphisms in algebraic geometry, though they have been with us for over 100 years.
My field is algebraic geometry in positive characteristic. I enjoy this theory, because many classical geometric intuitions break there forcing enthusiastic explorers like me to develop new ones. Exciting!
Outside of research, I love the lore of mathematics: philosophy, history, and anecdotes. My favorite parts are stories describing the evolution of structures over time, but I also love the ones about the bizarre adventures of my math predecessors.
Finally, I am much more than just a math aficionado. I am also an amateur storyteller, improviser, aerial hoop performer, movement enthusiast, dancer, gamer, and so on. I am a lot! :D
If you want to contact me for math, art, or any other reason, feel free to do so. Don't reject yourself! It is my job! <Wink>
