Checkmyfile Guide respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is stored on your device, and the choices available to you.

Checkmyfile Guide ("the App") is an independent, offline educational companion about credit reports, credit scores, and personal finance topics.
The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Check My File Limited, any credit reference agency, or any financial institution.
2. Information We Collect
The App is designed to work primarily offline. We do not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide personal identity information to use the App.
We may handle the following on your device:
App preferences you choose locally, such as dark mode and onboarding completion status
Content you create on your device, including notes, bookmarks, checklist progress, expenses, savings goals, and planner items
Recently viewed articles and continue-reading progress stored locally for your convenience
Basic, non-identifiable technical data handled by your device operating system when you install or update the App
3. How We Use Information
Information stored by the App is used only to provide features on your device. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Your locally stored data helps the App remember bookmarks, track checklist progress, power calculators and tools, and personalize your in-app experience.
4. Data Storage & Security
All user-generated content and preferences are stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage technologies.
Because data remains on your device, uninstalling the App or using the in-app "Reset Local Data" option may permanently delete your saved notes, bookmarks, and progress.
You are responsible for keeping your device secure with a screen lock, system updates, and safe backup practices where appropriate.
5. Sharing & Third Parties
The App does not transmit your locally stored notes, bookmarks, or personal tool data to our servers.
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, ad interaction data, and similar information to deliver and measure ads. Google's privacy policy applies to this data: https://policies.google.com/privacy
If you choose to share content using your device's share feature, the shared text is handled by the app or service you select.
6. Advertising
The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob (banner, interstitial, and rewarded formats). Ads may be personalised based on your device settings and Google's advertising policies.
You can limit ad personalisation through your Android device settings under Google → Ads, or through applicable Google account controls.
7. Internet Permission
The App requests the INTERNET permission for ad delivery and system-level compatibility. Core educational content and tools function without requiring an active internet connection for reading and using local features.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Review and manage your saved data within the App at any time
Reset all local App data from the Profile screen
Uninstall the App to remove locally stored information from your device
Control device backup behaviour through your Android system settings
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Please review our Child Safety Policy for more information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date shown in the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
