Suggestions of places to go to if the vibe you're going for is just to talk.
These are not "first date ideas", if your first date would end after going to places like these.
Be self-aware. Be considerate.
Plan accordingly.
If you chose to go to this type of venue, it would be very considerate of you to give your date a heads up that there won't be food involved.
Not everyone by default assumes that first dates = lounges.
This is especially true if your date is going out straight after work.

Newer hotel located in the Rockaways. They have "The Rooftop" - a rooftop bar that has panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline and the ocean.
There is a bar/restaurant right when you walk in on the right. You can choose to sit there. If the lobby is empty, you can probably take your drinks out and sit by the fireplace.
*There is a DJ every Motzei/Saturday night from 7PM-Closing
*After 6PM on Motzei/Saturday nights, guests must be 21+
There is self parking available for restaurant guests.
There is also the Greenhouse Café - the Rockaway Hotel's street side coffee shop - most likely the coffee is kosher per most coffee shops.
*We recommend not drinking out of glass or ceramic, have them make your drinks in to-go cups. THIS CLOSES EARLY so not for an afternoon or evening date

Very popular place to take girls from the 5T. It's usually here or the TWA. In the summer's its very busy with all the beachgoers. The winter is a bit more quiet. The lounge is a not a big area to begin with so on busier nights, anticipate sitting among a bunch of dates.
***Guys, it's really sweet when you offer a change of scenery to walk on the boardwalk. Just be aware of the weather and the girl's choice of footwear :)
Summer Vibes - As of the summer, all seating with the exception of the downstairs entrance is considered part of the hotel. Therefore, visitors will be asked to order food. If you as a dater do not want to order food, we would recommend going elsewhere. This seems to be part of a trend of hotels that don't appreciate the frum daters taking up seats for hours that order minimally. Also, the boardwalk is extremely crowded and busy during the summer with both Beachgoers and frum families alike.
There is street parking in the front of the hotel building as well as valet parking. You would normally walk through the lobby up the stairs on the left for the lounge. Now, you probably will stay in the lobby.

*This is a VERY popular place to take 5T girls, be aware. If you go here, you are not original. (Looking at you NotAnotherLounge for taking that line 😏)
*Be careful where you sit. If you walk upstairs towards the champagne bar, on the left side is an actual cafe/restaurant. If you choose to sit there - you will be asked to order something.
The Sunken Lounge (the red area right in the middle) occasionally closes for private events, check the website to see if it's open for walk-ins.
There are interesting exhibits throughout the hotel you can walk around to check out.

Can do valet or park in lot right across (not a far walk)

The Long Beach boardwalk is around 2 miles long that is very wide and generally a nice place to walk. The Allegria Hotel is situated on it, so its very common for people to start off there to get a drink and then go out to the boardwalk to stroll. There are several ramps that lead onto the boardwalk, so remember where you park.
*Please be conscious of what your date is wearing - if you didn't give her a heads up, she might be wearing heels/shoes that can get stuck in the slats. Heads up on plans are always appreciated
*Please be conscious of the weather and make sure that its not too cold or windy to be near the water.
Some suggestions for the boardwalk that doesn't include the Allegria:
-Marvel Soft Service ice cream is located on the boardwalk right outside the Allegria Hotel.
-Pick up Starbucks from the location in Long Beach and take with you to the boardwalk
*Please be aware that the boardwalk is incredibly popular on Sundays during the nicer spring/summer weather, beachgoers and frum people alike as opposed to the Atlantic Beach boardwalk which has less people since beach access is club members only and the boardwalk isn't as big or nice.

This is a recommended alternative to the Allegria Hotel and TWA. There is a lot more seating here across the main lobby and floor so you really shouldn't be sitting right on top of other dates like in the other two hotels.
*On nights that there are hockey games, people come after the game to the bar so it gets occasionally loud right near the bar. Bar closes around 9PM.
When you order drinks, at this point they realize the frum people will be walking around so they'll give it to you in plastic cups with covers.

This is a decent sized Starbucks that's a popular place to take 5T girls. There is some seating indoors on the main floor as well as a whole upstairs and a roof. In nice weather there might be some available tables near the parking lot but that probably isn't the nicest vibe. The parking lot next door isn't so big, you might have to circle.
