Checkers 4X 

Checkers 4X is a deep 2v2 team strategy game where opposite players act as allies. It reimagines classic board games, combining the movement freedom of Halma, the tactical positioning of Chess, and the dynamic captures of Checkers into a single cohesive system.

The game takes place on an 8x8 diamond board where two teams compete for dominance. Your objective is to capture both enemy Capitals or eliminate all opposing forces.

KEY MECHANICS:

• Maximum Freedom: Utilize all 64 squares. Unlike classic checkers, pieces move and jump in any direction—orthogonally and diagonally. You can move backward, perform optional captures, and even chain-jump over your allies to reposition quickly.

• The "Cycle" System:The game flow is divided into cycles of 4 turns. Passive play is punished: every 4th cycle is a Hunger Epoch. If you fail to capture an enemy "prisoner" during this phase, you must sacrifice one of your own pieces to the Altar just to make a move.

• Deep Resource Management Captured pieces are not removed from the game permanently; they become "prisoners" stored in your Cage. Use them as a strategic resource or invade an enemy Capital to release them back onto the battlefield.

• True Cooperative Strategy: You are not alone. Use the Synergy mechanic to interact with your partner. You can exchange prisoners with your ally, pass turns to them, and stack pieces to form Rams - heavy units that can crush enemy defenses.

• Comeback Mechanics: The game is never over until both players on a team are eliminated. If your ally falls, you gain control of their remaining troops and move twice per cycle, fighting for two.
