A lost Macy's card is replaced only with proof of purchase — and only for the balance Macy's records show. Keep the receipt until the card is spent.

Can I check my Macy's balance online? Yes. Go to macys.com and open the gift card help section, then enter your card number. It takes under a minute.

Why won't my Macy's card number work online? Macy's splits the number across two boxes — the first 15 digits go in the card number field and the remaining digits in the CID field. Typing the whole number into the first box is the usual reason a check fails.

Do Macy's gift cards expire? No. Macy's states the card never expires, and the same applies to e-gift cards.

Can I reload a Macy's gift card? Yes, but only in a store — there's no online reload.

Can I use a Macy's gift card at Macy's Backstage? Yes. It works at Macy's, Macy's Backstage, Market by Macy's and macys.com.
